  • I ordered one of these phones and because I wasn't at home it got sent back to the depot. Someone mis placed the sorry you were out card and when i tracked the phone down it was back at carphonewarehouse.
When i phoned to ask them to resend it to me it was out of stock after numerous phonecalls, cut offs and being passed from one department to another I got a cheque for £2.88?? Why on earth have they just refunded me £2.88 when they took £12.88 out of my bank. I should get the credit back aswell as I never even saw the phone...let alone use the credit...
Im going to phone them up yet again for the £10 refund
  • Can someone advise me of how I obtain a chargeback? Do you just phone your credit card customer services to request it?

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
  • Well I have just phoned my credit card company for a chargeback. They have advised that the £10 credit will be on my next credit card statement (due next month). I wish I did this 4 weeks ago. It was such a straight forward and pleasant experience.

I recommend that all those still waiting for their tenner credit from CPW, do as I did!! Don't pursue cpw any further go for chargeback. This is the first time I have gone down the chargeback route!

if you do the chargeback can you keep the phone

Yes you can keep the phone. You have paid for £10 topup and if they do not give you this then legally they are in breach of contract.

Just go for chargeback. When I got my chargeback a few months back I kept the phone and got my £5 quidco so in the end they paid me to have the phone off them :j .
  • oops. Just realised I paid by switch. And before you all start, i dont know why. Now where do i go??? The extra 72 hours is up in 3 minutes. And no, im not gonna give up cos its the principle of the thing (I still cant figure out why i used my switch card, so please dont hurl abuse at me):A

  • Decision made. Sale of goods act letter going to cpw. If no luck, I will use the small claims court, not for the money but cos i'm now on my high horse.

  • After waiting and thinking it would never happen......Ten pounds credit has been put on each of the two phones that I bought in December.:THope others get theirs too.
  • Hi , I have still not had my £10 credit. I have e mailed CPW many times since before christmas. They e mailed me back yesterday saying the £10 had been applied to my account and that I can get it at a CPW shop. It's a matter of principal now isn't it. I have printed out the e mail and will take it when I go to town Friday. I will let you all know if I gt it. Anyone else still waiting? I didn't go for the chargeback as it is now so long ago, I can't even remember how I paid for it.

I had the same problem as you. I emailed CPW and they replied with an apology and told me to call in at any CPW store and the credit would be added. I did so, and it was, without further ado.
  • I have been promised this many times and have written to CPW using advice from consumer direct. Their 14 day limit to respond was up today. Tomorrow I will ring Consumer Direct back. We should not have to do this. I am very unhappy and am quite prepared to go the whole way with it.

    Grrrrrr

Ill let you know how I get on!!
