    a) It hurts and I want pain relief!!!
    b) I want as many medical professionals around me in case things go wrong (as they nearly did with Poppy).
    c) Don't want the neighbours calling the police about all the shouting next door!

See I completely understand that but I don't have those reasons, I've been told I'm the perfect candidate for HB,
I had just gas n air,
    no intervention and quick birth.
I also don't have neighbors as houses either side are empty
but still I just can't do it

No tree here! I'm enjoying my last Christmas with little fuss coz next year Chris will know what it is so I'll be forced to have tree, lights and all sorts of associated crap

I've just asked OH if we can not put ours up this year, and he said NO! I think that's otherwise known as "No dear, I understand you're tired so I will put the tree up soon" or at least it'd better be! ;)
  • :xmassmile Oh, I wouldn't bother if its not up already....this time next week it will be Christmas Eve! :D.

I'm so scared that OH will be his usual shy self and just go along with his boss when they say "matt your going to london" and then I'll go in to labour and like with chris it'll be really quick and he'll arrive at hosp filthy minutes after bubs arrives

That reminds me, if baby arrives mid-July, OH is going to miss FOUR training days (if he takes two weeks off) which he usually runs (he's the one giving the training). Very unusual for them to have four within two weeks - it's usually three in a month. I noticed it on their calendar yesterday but couldn't say anything cos his boss was around. Can't wait to have the scan and get an actual EDD and be able to tell everyone!

Well they'll have plenty of time to re-arrange them!
Elle do you and OH work for the same place? if so does it cause probs for you?
I read a thread recently about someone who wasn't allowed to discuss their personal life including their wedding because their OH worked for the same company, sounds crazy to me

They won't rearrange - unfortunately they have to fit in with five different shift groups, extra training on their days off, and we have to give them silly amounts of notice otherwise they don't attend and we get all sorts of probs!

Yes, work at the same place. We work in the same building, but at different ends of it (corridor between our offices is longer than our cul-de-sac!). We met at work, got together about eight months after I started. We both have the type of roles where everyone on site knows us - my office faces out on to the main site road and he's often out in the van so drives past quite often. It started with him waving to me, then the company went into administration so all of our work ground to a halt and we were mostly just coming into work to sit around doing nothing so he kept calling into my office for a cuppa and it.. ahem.. went from there! ;) That was just over two years ago; first saw him outside of work at the end of Nov '06.

It hasn't caused too many problems. We got together in the Nov but didn't come out and admit it until Feb (athough there were a lot of rumours about us in the meantime which we laughed off) so it was kinda established before the management could discourage it. There are occasions where we're suspected of passing on info which the other shouldn't know, but in fact I've never told him anything he hadn't already found out from somewhere else. He went for a promotion a while ago and I was kept completely out of the recruitment process (usually I'd see the questions before the interview) so we couldn't be accused of anything. Luckily, I get on really well with all the guys in his dept so they don't worry about stuff like that. It also helps that there is another couple on the senior management team who have been married for ten years after meeting at work and the shopfloor guys are more wary of them than us (as we're effectively shopfloor level too).

ETA: On a purely selfish note, the collection when I leave for mat leave should be good as they know us both! ;)
  • Morning all :D

Quick update from me, the scan we booked went FAB and according to the lady everything looks good so far and there's a really strong heartbeat :T

She did say I'm not as far gone as I thought she says I'm a week out (she says I'm only 9 1/2 weeks, not 10 1/2) but I've worked back the dates on the date she's given me and there's no way that's when conception took place (TMI?) - I know it's a bit of a silly question but how long can the stuff hang around if you know what I mean :o

Either way looks good so far, but the irony is the morning after the scan I got a call from the normal hospital and they've managed to fit me in for my first scan and all my tests on the 6th Jan, so I'm going to wait to get the date from them and tell everyone in the new year. Or do you think I'm ok to start telling people now?
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same

I missed this post 1st time round, I said a while ago I wish I could give my scan to someone else, I really don't think its fair that I can have it for free.
Last time I was 20/21 and this time I'm 23, the chance is super low anyway I don't see the point in offering tests to everyone my age when ladies over 35 elsewhere have to pay for it
OMG are you really that young? Not saying i thought you were a granny or anything, but your surprisingly younger than me
I had my nuchal tests at aged 18 and 24.
I thik everyone should be offered it.
    :j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j
