I'm worn out... Been to Ikea this morning... Had meatballs and dime cake for lunch... And apparently needed £20quids worth of stuff once I was in there...

I'm really pee'd off about my midwife appointment... I have seen a different one every single time, when I saw this one on Tuesday she didn't even ask me if everything was ok or I had any questions so of course I didn't think to ask any until I left.... And I'm 24 weeks and have had neither my MatB1 or prescription exemption forms let alone an early grant form... They're not that important because I don't have to hand anything into work and I get free scripts anyway but it's the principle of the thing!

Got church housegroup tonight, definitely at my house this week... Which means I really need to straigten my throws and hoover the living room and hall... Which won't be easy seeing as the brand new hoover we bought with our wedding vouchers blew up this week!

Oh, and why is it... On days when I ache all over and it hurts to go from sitting to standing... Stoopid men knock on the door asking if I want new windows or doors... Or have I had this booklet on energy price rises... The next bloke to knock and say 'is this your house love or do you rent it?' is going to get a pregnant lady kick in the nuts...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

AF - technical name for them is drop scones, but usually at home we refer to them as Scotch pancakes or Granny's pancakes (My granny was an amazing baker in her day - at 93, she's no longer baking!). They are a bit like sweet blinis or a smaller, scottish version of american pancakes that get eaten with maple syrup and bacon.

MFD - i think being upbeat is the only way forward. I can't do anything to alter the situation so no point stressing out about it - plus you lot keep me entertained. However, I have developed a big thirst today so I'm secretly hoping it's a sign labours close :D

now back to pg related stuff - this is what I treated myself to yesterday:

mcsmiler - drop scones??? i think we call them piklets back in Oz, but i could be wrong - in any event, feel free to launch some down south.
Pikelets (here anyway) are flat crumpets available from tesco and M&S (and much better than a crumpet IMHO
drop scones are like American pancakes the same size as pikelets but sweeter

edit - oh r.mac beat me to it!
I had "scotch pancakes" this morning with yummy honey on them, just wish Chris didn't insist on stealing half of them!

I don't really know the difference between a pikelet... A crumpet... A drop scone... A scotch pancake... I just know I like them all...

And also oatcakes... Potato cakes and waffles...

    ((HUGS)) Krystal

Last week I had a hissy fit at some salesman guy at the door. I ignored the knocking first time and he went away - as he was walking to the house next door he looked in the window and came back. I ignored him knocking once again so he opened my porch and knocked on the inside door  I raced to the door, flung it open and shouted - can't you take a hint? then slammed it shut again.

You're all gross talking about food when I feel bleurgh! _pale_

OK, spoke to mw, got my first appointment with her on Monday at 2pm, then had to phone DS2's Consultant and rearange his appointment from 1.30pm to 3pm as it takes about an hour. It's his 6monthly development check (he has Cerbral palsy) so important that he makes it. Done a load of ironing, a couple WM loads and was thinking about taking the dog for a 30min walk but now I feel all shaky, think I'm needing food, but I feel very sick and the thought of eating is making me almost gag. DH home early today which is good.

As for glucose in urine, I always get it if I eat sugar puffs!!!! No idea why.

Stop talking about Monster Munch and Cherry Bakewell's - the Roast Beef MM are divine, a gift from God himself. Only to be beaten by the beef Hula Hoop - of which I can quite easily eat 6 bags at a time

Sami - I think I've been there once and it was delish. Am still bl00dy starving though - 6 inch sub, chocolate cookie and crisps. Roll on sausage and mash for tea :D Didn't realise IKEA did so much baby stuff, just been on website now.

Sparkle - Oh, someone else near me, think that's 4 of us now, Sparkle, Glam, Sami and SeptemberBaby!! Yes, I will be in WGH. I just need a date - give me a date to focus on and I'm fine.

Will have to add MW appt to my High School Musical 3 wall planner that OH brought home from work (free in paper) - going to use it for all my baby appointments and related stuff!!! Need to take it down though when people come round otherwise they might wonder what this means. :rotfl:

    Monday 12th Jan ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ (date I tested)

I love HSM - looking forward to watching them all over again when Bean arrives and starts growing up. OH wonders why I like Zac for a boy!!!
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

piklets you are making then :D:D:D

my nan used to go to a 'mothers club' meeting once a month (still about 25 years after the children had left any type of education :D ) and one of the ladies would make piklets to have with their lunch. she would always make extra to send home for me with my nan :T :T

    should make myself some actually.

:rotfl: : MFD - i love it! The only people I'm usually rude to at the door is jehova's witnesses (sorry if anyone here is one) I usually say I'm not interested in joining a group of murderers  :o they don't like that much!
