Glamazon (my labour buddy!!!) - the appointment I've got on 9 March is for my booking in, bloods and dating scan. MW hasn't phoned me yet - I was given a letter by the doctors to call the hospital direct (choose and book) and made the appointment with the receptionist.

I've just called the doctors and the nurse is going to give me a call back - hopefully she will give me some reassurance re the discharge. I am feeling quite queezy today but not sure if I'm just imagining it!!!

Ah, I have to see Community Midwife then get referred to hospital after that so they will probably do Choose and Book referral then - I will be 12 weeks on 12th March so we should be having our scans the same week.

I feel really queasy today as well - think it's cos I had a late night at footy last night. I think you feel more sick if you are tired, I have certainly felt this.
Have a banana - that settled my stomach.

  • Thanks Lu T, I'm definitely not doing too much, I'm beginning to wonder if its just braxton hicks?

They do feel like strong period-type pains in lower abdomen and back but they are not regular, I had one that took my breath away last night and lasted about 20 mins and then a shorter less painful one a couple of hours later.

I've had one this morning which was more like a twinge but just made me panic a bit!

I never had Braxton Hicks last time so not sure if thats what it is, baby is still mooching around and kicking etc so not really worried, although I remember being shocked last time that baby still moves around/kicks when you are actually in labour and having contractions!

    Hi all,

aylseburygirl - I 'm having chronic insomnia, same as you i can got ot bed at a normal time and get to sleep but i wake up shortly after and then just fuss and fidget all night and get no more sleep. I'm getting between 2-3 hours a night and I'm like a zombie....I REALLY hope it doesn;t last too much longer, i've had it for weeks now!

Stick - Congratulations, glad to see there's another newbie after me, I'm steadily moving my way up the list!!

Glamazon - I had to wait until 10 weeks for my first appointment which was yesterday (finally!) and the wait was agony! My midwife was lovely and completed a booking form and gave me a number to call to book my scan appointment. I called as soon as I got home and I'm booked in for the 11th Feb which is less than 2 weeks away, i'm so excited! But still terrified that I'll get there and they'll tell me that there's no baby....

we've also booked a holiday! We're going to India for 18days on the 27th Feb! We're spending a load of time sightseeing and some time with my family out there. I've been loads of times but it's OH's first time (he's not Indian) so I'm even more excited because i get to show him all the cool places I've been to over the years when i've been!
God it's less than a month away!! AARgh excited!
  • Well the doctor has just phoned me back and said that everything sounds fine. He said just to keep an eye and make sure no fresh, etc. Told the doc that I feel a bit sick today and he said "that's good" - well I'd rather not feel sick lol!!!

Another problem I've found is that I start falling asleep around half 9 at night and go to bed and fall asleep right away, then wake up at half 4/5 wide awake - past 3 nights now!

Fingers crossed everthing will be ok. It still hasn't fully sunk in yet and I hate not telling anyone but we want to wait until 12 weeks first.

    morning ladies,

    welcome to the newbies

r.mac - labour vibes to you young lady

milliesmum - amazing how our body's work isn't it when we are pregnant and how we have to worry about all these different pains. i haven't experienced BH so can't help i'm afraid.

i am obviously back from the hospital. had trouble giving blood again (thank goodness this is the last time, i am sure i have no blood in my veins ever and that is why they struggle).

measurements of bubs are all 'normal'. gave me a guesstimate weight at present, but then the constualt (sonographer gave weight) said that he woudnt like to give me a final weight because even the one given today can be 16% incorrect either side.

as all is fine in myself etc, i do not now have to be consultant led.

he did tell me to drink more so i dont get any 'wee wee' infections :rotfl: said terms like 'wee wee' had to become part of my vocab now

Oh god i know the "I WANT IT NOW" feeling, i'm the most impatient person in the world, i'm the one who has to know what her birthday and christmas presents are because she doesn't like surprises!

I want my scan NOW, I want to be able to tell people NOW, i want a bump NOW, i want to know what sex it is NOW, i want to have be able to give my baby a cuddle NOW! God know's how i'm gonna cope for another 6 and half months!

If the insomnia doesn;t do me in, the I WANT syndrome will!

Did you go to the Baby's r us at Gemini?
I know it's far too early to be looking (6 weeks today!!!) :j but thought I might go and check out any bargains especially when sale comes to an end. Have never checked out the baby stuff in there or in IKEA (Why would I?) - is it any good? Might check it out on way home from work, then nip to ASDA for a cheeky look in there!

I like the Marlow - the dresser in natural would go perfect in our room.
Yep :D babies r us and ikea at gemini and then asda westbrook, I was gonna go to mothercare near pizza hut too but didn't have time!
We have quite a few bits from Ikea, for Chris we got the cheap ikea changing table because we couldn't afford much then but nothing big besides that everything else we have is toys/bedding/babyproofing If you get an Ikea family card you get all the safety stuff an some other bits and bob at reduced prices too :T
babies r us is what it is really, the stuff is nice, similar prices to mothercare but the thing that annoys be is the store isn't as clean as I think it should be (the edges of shelves have dust bunnies) and the staff never seam to be around or are busy so everything takes longer than necessary.
If you go pick up at a catalogue off the desk in the baby bit coz there are usually vouchers in the front of it HTH

Saw the Nurse this morning, she says I'm doing fine and to talk to the MW about my specific concerns, and to mention that I've not bought anything. She said they are still looking to discharge me in March, despite my reservations. She did say not to worry about it too much, its not like they've actually done anything to help me!

Seeing MW this afternoon for Anti-D and check up. Hopefully BP is behaving itself. Morning sickness seems to have come back, thought it was a bit late for that!
