i am going to start looking into perineum massage as well. must read up on it again becuase the way i read about it in my hypnobirthing book gave me the impression it was done internally which is didn't think was the case.

AF start at one cup a day for a week, then two a day for a week, then three a day for a week, then 4 per day until you pop!

I have to say that I've cut back because I feel like i'm drowning in the stuff!!!! But I think it tastes nice :D

hi angelfairy- if it is meant to be internal massage then I'm doing it all wrong :rotfl:

found this website useful, and it says this about amounts of tea:

'Once you have reached the 32nd week of your pregnancy you could begin with one cup of raspberry leaf tea a day and gradually increase up to 4 cups or tables a day (although this may vary in accordance with the strength of the blend and the manufacturers instructions).'

    HTH,;)

    Love Weezl x

I don't think you need a special cream to massage, that's just mothercare seeing an opportunity and exploiting it for monetary gain... I'm pretty sure you can just use olive oil but will head off and research it now... I didn't do it last time... But don't use me as a guage, I tore from one end to the other... But then she had a big head so I think I would of torn whether I massaged my foo or not...

ETA: I took raspberry leaf tablets last time because I don't like fruit teas... Again, don't know if it made a difference, ran out of tablets at about 36 weeks and didn't get any more lol
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Right - I'm off partying girls!! What's the betting that the speech from the boss this evening includes reference to the fact that there will be more money in the kitty for the free bar than normal because I am not drinking

    Hi everyone,
I am not a mother yet (or pregnant), but I ventured here because I put Kiddicare into the search...

As I said I am not pregnant, however my best friend is. And she decided for Stokke set (pram, carrycot, foot muff...etc), but the problem is that she lives abroad. So I ordered it for her and shipped it accross the chanel on a truck.

Now I am having the most terrible nightmare ever! 4 boxes arrived, though on the boxes is says 1/5,2/5... which suggest there should be 5 boxes. I cannot reach anyone on ANY of the numbers provided on their website and now I am really worried. Anyone has any different number for them please?

perineum massage- is anyone trying this? At how many weeks? With what massage oil? And perhaps more for those who tried it with a previous pregnancy, do you think it helps?!

Just crashing your thread, sorry, but we used perineal massage whilst I was expecting our DD so thought I'd just let you know my opinion. Personally I really think it worked as I did not tear vaginally when giving birth to my DD even though she was 8lb5oz. I would definitely recommend it as some of our friends suffered terrible tears.

If you do it properly then it should be uncomfortable whilst you are doing the stretching - this means it is actually working! We used lubricant at first & then changed to olive oil as recommended which is all you need - don't let mothercare flog you expensive stuff! The stretching is a mixture of internal & external, I actually got my OH to do it for me as he wasn't horrified at the idea & at 30+weeks pregnant it is awkward doing it yourself! You massage the perineum externally & you then (if I remember rightly) insert your two thumbs & massage & stretch your perineum internally. You need to spend a decent amount of time doing it each night & after a couple of weeks you will actually feel the difference.

We are currently TTC our 2nd & will be using perineal massage again if we get pregnant.

    HTH & wasn't TMI!

Any - Myfathersdaughter has bought this pram/buggy for her bump. She's probably the best person to advise, but she's off partying this evening. Hopefully she'll see your post over the weekend and help.

perhaps a bit obvious but could you call them and ask how many boxes there should be????
