and triggles I haven't written a list or anything but all I "need" is a sun hat in case its sunny when we leave hosp :D
but I would like a new changing table, a swadling blanket (the ones that velcro or tie for ease) eerrrrmm oh and I might ask MIL to get the isofix base for carseat. thats it!
I may later need a cot/cotbed for bubs as we need to get the house straight first then decid if Chris should move into a bed or keep his cotbed.

edit - off to see the in-laws now byeee

i've debated on the swaddling blanket. Have you used one before? DS hated being all swaddled up. He fussed like crazy. He was a "sleep on his back with arms and legs straight out" right from day one. But DD loved being snuggled up in a blanket, all swaddled up. I think most babies like it, don't they?

  • Triggles - this is my list, I am due in 39 days  and it's my first!!

    Hammock - bought
    Pram - bought
Monitor - still to buy. Want BT 150 (reviewed as best in Which) but hubby says he is not paying THAT much for a walkie talkie
    Bath - SIL to buy
Bouncing Chair - brother to buy
Cot or Cotbed - still to buy
Sheets - bought for Cot (that we don't have) not for hammock!
    Blankets - bought
    Car Seat (Maxi-cosi) - bought
2 x Maxi Cosi Base - still to buy (DH responsibility!!!)
    Changing Mat - bought
Breast Pump - will either buy in Asda baby event or will leave til after birth (want tommee tippee closer to nature)
Steriliser - ordered yesterday - bargain!
Changing bag - probably just use a rucksack so hubby will use too.
Muslins - still to buy. Either Asda or will finally order the John Lewis ones!!
Clothes - tons of hand me downs from lovely friend who only bought white!! Probably bought about 1/2 dozen 'boy' things!
Nappies - huggies boots offer, free huggies starter pack and
Wipes etc - mainly from Sainsbury's 1/2 price baby event

Nipples - I already have them :rotfl:

Not sure how everyone else has worked it but we basically decided a budget when I first got pregnant and my 'challenge' is to buy the best of what I want from that budget. If I overspend in one area I will try to economise in another...

It does! That's why we love it - it looks like a golf cart with a pram bit stuck on as an afterthought :rotfl:

I have just looked at the Stokke pushchair - I don't like it, sorry:o to be honest I am not one for all these modern looking pushchairs, maybe I am a bit boring;)

I will go and nosey around Asda when the baby event starts, but I don't actually 'need' much. I will possibly pick up some nappies and see what little bits they have, but all the big stuff I have. I will need safety gates and a highchair, but that is not for a while yet, so may not bother getting them till the time.

MFD - We didn't set a budget, I just sort of worked out what we actually needed and have looked around for things I 'want', comprimising between price and quality along the way.

Hello all am back and baby stayed put lol! was having contractions every 10-15 mins until 11pm last night when i eventually fell asleep exhausted. hosp said to wait and see what happend and then they would decide from there. baby usually kicks and jumps non stop and i hadnt had any movement from 6pm yest, had breakfast drank fizzy juice done everything then started to worry. Phoned community midwife who said get to hosp now!

so i have spent half the day strapped to a monitor, for her to start jumping around after an hour on it?? OH was worried all night as she hadnt moved and as soon as she started there was a huge sigh of relief. hosp think that the contractions were caused by her position and that they had probably tired her out as much as me? on the plus side am 5/5 and they said any time now and more likely sooner than later. sorry for the rambling but thought i better let you all know! so it will be an early dinner and bed for me today!

funny how you can feel so tired sitting on a bed all day:rotfl: :rotfl: hope you are all fine and bumps behaving, and hopefully this LO will give me a bit more of an easy time the next few days:rolleyes: xx
What's for you won't go past you
  • Don't be sorry Mel - I think my mum, SIL and MIL are going to hate it too :rotfl:

    It takes all sorts!
