Stokke shop to drool over cool prams,
Tescos to get a roo bathrobe thingie,
Asda to check out the baby event,
    The list goes on....:rotfl:

Oooooh - I looked at the Stokke pushchairs. Ouch! Too pricey for us! But very very cool! MFD - did you get to look at one in person to see how the two wheel function works? It seems really nice! We're looking at a Graco model travel system, so we can get a buggy board for DS. We have a brand new double pushchair (mclaren twin techno), but we bought it ages ago, and we're now thinking DS will be too old for it by August.

So, I'm curious. What is your list of must haves and do you already have them? Mine is:

    - electric breast pump (already have from DS)
    - cold water steriliser stuff (have to buy yet)
    - pushchair/travel system (have to buy yet)
    - bottles, nipples (have to buy yet - avent, most likely)
    - cotbed/mattress (have to buy yet)
    - nappies (disposable - bought Pampers with that cool 10 for £10 thing)
    - changing table (over the cot one, already have from DS)
    - bath seat (already have from DS)
    - clothing (have a fair assortment from DS, but will pick up some still)
    - cotsheets (already have from DS)
    - blankets (already have from DS, may pick up one to two more)
    - nappy bag (just picked up the free one from Boots on Monday!)
    - monitor (angel care - DH suggested it - have to buy yet)
    - rocker seat (already have from DS)

Hmm. My mind has gone blank. Can't think of anything else. I want to get it organised on my home planner. What essentials is everyone else getting? I imagine some of you that are almost due have got yourself all kitted out, right?

  • I warn you ladies - don't look at the Stokke it is dangerous ground...especially if you show your husbands!!

Sami - basically, one set of wheels folds away when you go upstairs so baby stays at the same angle. It's hardly miraculous but it would make life easier if you did stairs very often.

I looked long and hard into getting a second hand one but ones 3 years old are still going for between half and two thirds of the original price so we decided to take the plunge and sell it on later.

Ours is the turqoise blue one and I love it!!

Whilst I am confessing I also bought Bubba a hammock rather than a moses basket or crib. Google moffii hammock or amby natures nest if you want a look. I got a bargain on that though and bought one half the normal price.

I have next to nothing left in the baby budget for a cot now though :o:D

Well Molly I'm pretty sure you can take asda off ur list, I think the baby event only starts on the 27th :D

Triggles: What i liked abot the P&T was it was for child upto 4yrs - I can assure you I will NOT be pushing Chris round when he's 4!!

and the bag has been sprayed and suitably filled with carp that I insist on carrying around with me! Chris is most impressed, he keeps pointing at it saying "ooh new 'ambag!" :D

Sami - oh, that's right - your Chris is only 6 mos younger than Liam. So he'll be at that age too - getting old enough to walk, but don't know how long he'll last about town. I told DH I wanted to get the pushchair and buggy board about a month early and actually take DS into town a few times with it (we can just put bags in the seat) so he doesn't feel like the baby has pushed him out. And so we can see how he does with it.
