on the topic of KIT days. Right as far as I understand it If I do my ten days then you dont get the stat pay for the 10 days is that right? So if I do them after my 9 months of stat then Im basically getting more money for it? If so then im so waiting

It's all down to your own employer and what you agree with them. There are no rules on payment for KIT days - they could not pay you at all! (although can't seeing anyone agreeing to do them on that basis!)

feelie what you are feeling is probably head n hands down low bum under one side of ribs and feet under the other
Tine I understand and the reason is that the gov state that the latest ur mat leave can start is the day you give birth so If you took 2week hol before ur mat leave was due to start and bubba arrived during the 2 wks holiday you would end up losing some of the holiday as ur mat leave would automatically start from birth date - does that make sense? Sorry to post this again but there has already been 6 pages since i posted it and more people may have come on and may not see it. I really need to hear from anyone who has heard of hcg levels increasing after a mc i am going nuts here thinking could i still be pg or not.
Also is there a mc thread? i could ask questions in as i'm sure it's the last thing you lovely ladies want to hear about.

Oh forgot to add... apparently they won't let me take my holidays after my maternity leave - anything accrued up till I go on mat leave has to be taken before then... This means I have to have a month off before the baby is due! Apparently they won't even let me start holiday a week before due date and then start mat leave when my holiday finishes 3 weeks after my due date...
That's going to make life interesting as we have still to get someone in as maternity cover and then I need to train them! Leaving me uhmmmmm 3 months to find them, HR to do the paper work and let us have them start AND train them to handle our biggest and most difficult client (and ideally 9 other clients too...)...
Super!
Not your responsibility to find your replacement nor train them, surely? What would they do if you were signed off from 26wks?
When does your holiday year run to/from?
Ours is April to March and I get 25 days holiday. I can use however much I want between April and mid-July and what I don't use, they'll either pay up or let me carry over into the next year (assuming I don't go back until the following July). These are our rules though, not statutory. As they only pay SMP, I suppose they've got to be generous on something!0 -
Yeah I deffo get my normal pay for them and I was going to do it asap to get the money but I guess im best of waiting till the 9 months are up so ive had my 9 months of stat and then my 10 days pay on top of it
From my staff handbook....
Employers have the right to maintain reasonable contact with employees during maternity leave and to offer them up to 10 days work and/or training without affecting their right to continued maternity pay or leave.Employees may be paid for any days they do work or attend training but SMP for any week in which paid work is undertaken is included in any contractual
payment for that week, and is not additional to the contractual payment. The minimum payment for any week must be at least the SMP due.Emma0 -

And DH laptop is on it's last legs (or so he claims... ok I grant him it needs a new battery but other than that it's ok... just needs a rebuild...)DFW Nerd #025DFW no more!
