  • Morning ladies.

Just a note on Raspberry Leaf Tea - someone said something about not taking it until 37 weeks.

The research referred to on babycentre says you can start at 32 weeks with 1 cup a day, building up to 4 cups per day (I am glad I like it!!)

    http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/labourandbirth/planningyourbabysbirth/raspberryteaeaselabourexpert/

AF - congrats on your 32 weeks...run and get some RLT for a shorter second stage of labour (that's the hurty bit so we want it to be as short as possible :rotfl: )

We went out on a leaving do last night and all I got was baby talk  sometimes I think I lost a bit of myself when I got pregnant!

Only 44 days to go - I really must start buying things!

  • DS had an asthma attack wednesday night (he is Ok now) - so sleep for OH or myself. Then last night he was up with his teeth - again no sleep. We look like zombies and I am so run down I have 2 giant coldsores, a load of spots and a stinking cold. I am supposed to be getting MORE rest not less.

Because we are so tired the housework has slid and its got to the point where I havent done any ironing for 4 weeks so I have to do some today or we have no clothes to wear. The kitchen is a shittip. And all I want to do is curl up on the sofa like the doctor has told me to do. I feel more sick when I am tired too so it's like a vicious circle.

I am just really struggling at the moment.
  • RE raspbery leaf tablets - do you think they will do anytihng if I take them 36 weeks onwards?? I am a bit scared to take em before that as I am going on holiday when I am 36 weeks (don't ask - it was booked way before I knew i was pregnant) and would be scared it would start something early!!

MFD: I'm afraid it gets no better :( nobody (except ur really good childless by choice friends) cares about you once you've got a baby, People have started asking me "how are you doing?" and I get all confused coz no one has asked me it for aaagggeess and then I remember oh they mean how am I coz I'm preg!

oh and AF forgot to say that pram isn't mine on ebay, mine's pistachio and not got round to putting it on yet- think I'll wait until I actually physically have my P&T one :D - I also forgot that I would say THE most essential thing for a baby is a changing table, I still use mine up to 6 times a day, 2 yrs later, (if you go for the cheep ikea one its a bit smaller than a standard one so you'll need to get the ikea change mat which is only about £3.50 and has inflatable side bits - very handy if you go on holiday coz you can deflate the sides and fit it in the suitcase nicely!)

OK so on to moi :D I'm gutted I'll prob need to wash my hair so it won't look as good on the pics for Chris's party 2mo  my house is noticably warmer now we have insulation :T although I'm now noticing the draft coming from the front door much more  and cam someone tell me what I did to deserve my morning nausea coming back again so soon!
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

Hi Helen, hopefully we'll be able to welcome you soon!!
My first sympton was my big sore (hot!) veiny boobies - but i ignored it as a sign that my period was due.
Then, at a wedding, when AF was almost a week late, the dress i'd bought a few weeks before, struggled to keep them in  .
Driving home from Glasgow to Merseyside the next day with hot, itchy boobies, it suddenly started to click and we popped to asda for a test!

Good luck - and (easy for me to say), try to chill til you can test!!

They are quite hot too. OOOhhh looks promising then. I really am trying not to get hopes up too much, its our 1st cycle ttc BUT i know my body and know that I don't get boobs like this at this time in th cycle! Im sure im pg!
love my little man he is amazing :j

Shelvis - if you read the research the RLT doesn't do anything to bring on labour (there is NO WAY I would be taking it this early if it did) but it is supposed to make the 2nd stage of labour (the giving birth to baby bit) quicker and easier.

  • Well I thought I'd best stop lurking and start posting in this thread :)

We'd been TTC for 18 months, had two miscarriages in this time and now I'm pregnant and managed to get to 21 weeks. This hasn't been straightforward though with bleeding problems etc and I was in the hospital last week again - they said I could lose the baby.
Anyway, I had my scan this week and ATM everything looks fine :j but I'm trying not to get too excited. I have a fetal monitor as the doc said if I could hear a heartbeat then the baby was OK... I try not to listen more than twice a day :rotfl: because sometimes I can't find it!

This will be the first baby for both grandparents and they are sooooo excited... we've been together for over 17 years so they'd given up all hope!

I promise to try to keep up with everybody on this thread!
  • Thanks MFD I read the page but I was still scared!!!

  • I promise to try to keep up with everybody on this thread!

Now that's a promise that needs commitment :rotfl:

Congrats babyelephant. Glad to hear that all is well at the moment. Hope you are taking it as easy as possible.

Look forward to getting to know you.

Shelvis - is that a general tea phobia or just this type of tea ;):D
