But we have started to make upstairs off limits in preparation for when the baby comes. We have just had our bedroom redecorated and we are temporarily sleeping in the "nursery" so we have stopped her going in the new bedroom and she will stop going in the "nursery" once we move out. She never sleeps upstairs with us though - she stays in the kitchen at night.
She is quite spoilt and clingy, so we have bought a crying doll that I put on my lap occasionally, hopefully she will get used to there being something else, other than her and the laptop on my lap.cats don't let a liitle thing like that get in their way - they're far too clever

I might get a cat net anyway though to be sure, but I really don;t think it will be an issue - she knows who is boss!
I have a cat and I love him to bits but at the end of the day you have to realise that it is a pet and I wouldnt be prepared to take even the slightest chance with my child. Its okay saying ' it wouldnt ' but they do.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Kizzy is not 'just a pet' to me. And I won;t wrap my child up in cotton wool - life is not risk-free and as long as risk is managed it's fine IMO.
We all have to do what we feel is right for us.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Ta about the 2bed Mooki. Seems like loads of ppl live in a 2bed and do fine
I was trying to think what my biggest problem with it is and I've decided it's cos the kitchen is fully open to the living room so there's no way to stop bubs getting in there when he/she would get mobile. I'm sure there's a huge gate thing I could get though which would keep the 2 a lil seperate (perhaps wishful thinking!!).
I'd love to go to Pisa - Haven't been to Italy yet
With the whole pet thing - I wouldn't have any hesitation about having pets around my kids, like a lot of others I think a lil dust n dirt etc. can only be good for kids. 2 of my brothers-in-law have been brought up in an uber-clean house and have tonnes of allergies whereas hubby n other bro-in-law lived in something a little more 'normal' with dog etc. and have no allergies.
I also grew up with pets and they were fantastic company for me when I was growing up - there's something really special about pets
Although - I'd never let the dog into the bedroom (they smell of dog, no matter how clean they are and there's some areas I just couldn't have that!!) and with cats...there's so many 'horror stories' about them sitting on top of babies etc.
I think I'm more of a 'animals stay downstairs' kinda person0 -

Re: The pampers.
Looks a bit sus to me - bids went £10, £20, £75, £77 with bidders name hidden each time. Someone trying to create false interest?!?!?
I have an old pampers box, it's about 27yrs old, it's pink and must have held LOADS of nappies. Wonder if I could sell that. £300 I think starting bid. Hehehe.0 -
I wouldn't have a cat either Caz...
...coz I'm allergic :rotfl:
When I first met hubby he had a lovely short haired cat but sadly he got poisoned and had to be put downhis parents later got 2 maine coon's which are very pretty but always turning up with poo stuck in their long fluffy tails *yuk*
I like cats but obv can't spend too long around them coz I get all puffy runny eyed and sneeze like crazy if i do, we WILL be getting a dog the second the house is finished I've come close to getting one a few times but I know its best to wait but I miss my dogs and I want Chris to grow up with a doggy friend like I did
PS. I grew up eating lots of food my dad caught/killed himself ie fish, rabbit, pheasant and we were always in the garden helping dad garden and playing with maggots so deff not one of those super clean up bringings but Dad, Sis n Me all suffer from loads off allergies so I think its mostly genetic :rolleyes:0 -

Mookie, I'm now a 38J (although the band is getting a bit big so prolly need a 36K now!) and only went up one cup size when my milk came in. I've got no problems bf whatsoever and I don't think I find it anymore uncomfortable than my smaller breasted counterparts.
The only issue I've had is that mothercare seem to design some nursing tops (particularly the sleep bras) as if you're really not as blessed and consequently I struggled to squish myself in and when I did my nip was nowhere near the hole! Getting bras can be a bit of a laugh as well but they do exist, well up to a J/K cup anyway!
Hope that helps :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0
