AM...sorry to say but if you have already had a pre term labour there is a high chance of it happening again....thats what hospital told me last week as ive had two already born early and they are keeping an eye on me.
Im another one not scared on needles....they really dont bother me at all..
Can I ask some advice? My hips are killing me...I know some of you say you get pain below your pubic bone but this is actually in both my hips. Its really bad trying to sleep on either side on a night time. I have to keep turning to the other side and only last so long before I have to move again.
Its been like this for a few day and ive not had much sleep xDS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -
Morning AM - was there a reason for you going into labour so early last time?
Although not prem, my DS and DD were both born at exactly 38 weeks. I asked consultant last week if this one was likely to make an early appearance and got the standard answer 'all pregnancys are different', and 'it'll come when its ready'. Lots of help - thanks!!
So, although its 4 weeks til my due date - i'm determined to have everything prepared and ready, just in case i've only got two weeks left.
I'm so excited now - i've only got three days left in work this week, then i'm finished til the end of November -
DS was eventually born at 37 weeks.
I'm seeing my MW on Tuesday so will have a word but no doubt i'll get the same answer.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
feelinggood wrote: »That was the one thing I was worried about. After reading a few books which go into quite a lot of detail, I feel much better about it, and am definitely going to try to BF. Just knowing that it is 'normal' to have all sorts of weird feelings and sensations, is reassuring. According to one book I read, it is sexual, and it is suppose to feel nice. There is nothing wrong with enjoying it, or getting pleasure from it. Hopefully knowing that will help!:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0

AM found this on the Tommy's website (in case u don't know Tommy's is a charity to do with prem babies)
If you have any non-urgent pregnancy questions or concerns call our midwives on 0870 777 30 60 or email them at: info@tommys.org
maybe they can reassure you, at least you know what they tell you will be accurate instead of hopping that something on the web is correct

My babies were born at 32 and 33 weeks but I went into labour a few weeks earlier and they managed to stop it for a bit( the drug they used was awful!!) only for the placenta to abrupt in both cases...this is why they were eventually born!!
Is the pain deep in both your hips?DS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -
AM:send them an email you might get a response today and then get sleep 2nite
how far along were you when your labour started? 37 wks isn't very premature but if you 1st started earlier than that I can understand why you are worried.
Also are you confident of the dates you had with Aston? Officially Chris was born at 39wks but if you saw him you would know that I was right with my own dates that put him born at 42 wks - the first thing the paediatrician asked me was, was I induced coz he could see he was obviously overdue (v little vernix at birth and dry flaky skin from head to toe)
I didn't find BFing sexual at all!! I think its poor use of language for an auther to say it is (IMHO) as ur a mum already I'm sure you, like me sometimes feel so happy and full of love for you boy that you could burst - its more like that feeling, technically its prob the same hormones (endorphines?) that get released when you are happy, eating choc, having a bit of jiggy, feeling love for your child but its not like you will be BFing and get horny0 -

See DS wasnt actually born premature I just went into premature labour a few days before 31 weeks, spent nearly a week in hospital where they managed to stop it, then it started again so they gave me the steroids for his lungs, then they managed to stop it again.
And yes the drug to stop labour is awfu!:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -

I'm pretty confident of my dates, I had a few scans and knew what my LMP was back then.
maybe i'm just being silly.....:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
Breast feeding. I did it for 2 weeks with DS1, was still in hospital he was in SCBU and I was being called several times a night to try and feed a tried early baby. I got so tired and he was feeding for 2 hours at a time that I asked to give him a bottle feed. At that time they did not let you bottle and breast feed. At his next feed I went to BF and in came the nurse with a bottle and stood there as I fed it to him. End of BF.
With DS2 we were doing great, again still in hopsital he was in SCBU too, I have been expressing and getting loads. At his feeds he just messed about for 15mins or so, he didn't have to latch on, I just dripped into his mouth. Then this large nurse came over, grabbed me grabbed his head and tried to shove us together. It was auful! I'd just started getting over bonding issues, was still in shock after his birth was still very ill and she asaulted me. That's how it felt. I walked away in a daze, could not express as the thought made me feel sick and I don't think that I could ever BF again. She did get a disaplinery for it after nurses asked me why I suddenly stopped BF.
Needles don't bother me though, I spent so much time in hospital that I got to the point where I could sit at the breakfast table and continue eating while they took blood.0
