elle it WILL get better... honest :) mine lasted to about week 19/20 I think it was... and it sucked but then it slowly started getting better and now at week 22 it's only certain things that will set me off... smells etc. I'm still careful about eating something first thing as I find if I don't eat regularly I start feeling slightly icky and if I ignore that then I get BIG time icky!

thanks for all the info on the paternity leave - very helpful!!!

i'm living on boring food right now - cereal, toast, crackers. the nausea is bad, but seems to get worse after eating.

And DH is helping me dig out maternity clothing tomorrow so I can start looking through it. I am tired of living in jogging trousers and would like to be dressed like a person - but most of my trousers are quite fitted - I have a few pairs of stretch trousers in the maternity box, so I think I'm going to have to move on to them.

I was 8 months old when my mum got pregnant with my sister (yet another coil MIA drama!). I know I'm lucky cos she was sick 2-12 times a day for the whole nine months - thank god that doesn't run in the family!

MrsT, that's what's setting me off - not eating often enough then getting stupidly hungry in seconds! I've never had a big appetite so having to eat, eat and eat a bit more all before I actually feel hungry has taken some getting used to. I really must talk OH through how to make twink's hobnobs!

We are in danger of swamping the boards with individual pregnancy threads, so I am going to merge this into the main pregnancy club. That will then run in chronological order so I hope it won't be too hard to follow ...
Signature removed for peace of mind
  • Is anyone still up, ive just read this thread from page 101 and now have a very sore finger from scrolling down so much!

Congrats to all the ladies with beautiful new arrivals and all the latest BFP's!

I love reading about all the women with due dates close to my own, i feel part of a gang even though im probably the most disorganised, im 31 weeks (in an hour!) and havent bought a bean!............

I've deffo learnt that I need to check my coil every month as per instructions. :D
Mine didn't go missing but I did ignore that I couldn't find the threads for 2mths :naughty: which resulted in the delay of ttc-ing and I possibly wouldn't have needed all the pain n discomfort I had in getting it taken out if I'd done something as soon as I couldn't find them
I'll be taking much better care of my new IUS when I get it, I'm seemingly too fertile to risk it disappearing!

Sue I do love it when you merge other threads in to this one! It usually hurts my baby brain :rotfl:

  • Eeeeeeeeek, first baby or first post?!?! Ive posted a couple of times, but this is my first baby if thats what you mean!

I've got pregnancy insomnia at the moment and havent been getting to sleep til the early hours so thought i'd come on here for a while and catch up on everyones news. Ive actually just written a list for a potential hospital bag shopping list so i do now feel a bit more organised. There are some things posted on here that i wouldnt of even thought of so its fab reading all these tips. Arnica for the potential bruising and lip balm for dry lips after all that gas & air are excellent ideas.

My mum had me at 30 weeks which i find so bizzare, i so wouldnt be ready right now!

Do most places only give one picture?

At the two NHS ones, I got quite a lot. 4 at the first one, 8 at the second.

I asked for a foot one at my 20 week scan - it was the only bit of him on show! He moved around as soon as I asked, so I ended up getting lots!

I had to ask for a picture, was given just one, and had to pay £2 for it. I'm jealous of ladies who get more than that, especially if they are free.

In case anyone's trying to do a budget, it looks like SMP and SPP will be £123.06 a week from 5 April 2009 (currently £117.18).

Don;t suppose MA is going up as well? Does anyone know?

And on the subject of weddings. I'm afraid I am the least MSE on here I think! Including the honeymoon ours cost about £24,000. My dress was just shy of £3,000 on its own and I spent £400 on my shoes and around £1,000 on my jewellery :o We had a lovely church wedding (we both go to church) and a gorgeous reception by the Thames at a private members' club and it was worth every penny. Oh yeah, and my parents paid! :T not for the honeymoon but for the rest of it. I'm a VERY lucky girl!
