    Me too. I'm very nosey.

I was a Nursery Nurse before I got married. Gave up work then - OH is a contractor and we've got to be available to travel at short notice.

    Hello ladies :hello:

How is everyone? Sure I've missed heaps - my head was in the wrong place so I absented myself for a while.

Been signed off and got hospital checks next week :( protein in sample, itchy skin and general lack of energy all of a sudden along with rampant hormonal mood swings so they want to do a couple of checks. personally I reckon I'm so close to podding that by the time they wrok out what is wrong (if anything really), I'll be cuddling Bean:p

  • am - I got a few decent pairs of mat trousers from mothercare, but all my other maternity clothes were either from the maternity range in new look, or just stuff I bought a size bigger than normal from Primark - look out for longer tops, as you will need the length to cover up your bump... or even mini dresses. Right now I'm wearing maternity trousers and a very short blue velvet frock I've had for over 10 years. It's really flared at the bottom, so still goes round me fine even at this stage. No way I could wear it as a dress now, as it doesn't cover my pants, (aside from the fact that I can't reach to shave my legs at the mo ;) ) but it looks like it's meant to be a top, so no-one will ever know!!!

thanks r.mac:T i`ll check out ebay for the kit we have a fabric warehouse nearby. I need to add some blackout lining too.

I`ve looked at kiddicare website very good now just have to make decision on style colour. We are not changing wall paper of what was our guestroom as its a nice yellow stripe paper very classic english style.

My OH is going away this weekend with his pals last break for freedom but i think men are free anyway !

so upside is lots of time surfing and planning.

i use that migraine stick for my headaches its lovely
  • I knew I had something else to add (thanks AF for reminding me)

I was in Asda yesterday and some cheeky monkey had opened a pack of their muslins ( ;) ).

So I took the opportunity to have a nose and they seemed to be pretty good quality (althought they seemed massive).

They were £3 but I am not sure if it was a 3 pack or a 5 pack.

My question is - does anybody use Asda Muslins, are they any good, do they wash well and how many are there in a packet?
(do they compare to the John Lewis ones?)

(I know it is freaky to worry about muslins for so long...can you imagine what I was like looking at prams :D )

For maternity clothes H&M do quite a good range of stuff. Usually tucked away in a corner of the kids clothes department if you're having trouble locating it...

    Hi Luc,

Nice to see you back :T :T

Hope you are taking it easy then, but can understand that you are saying about by the time they find out what is causing these things, you will be a mummy :D:D

MFD - have been given a back of Asda muslins and there are 3 in the pack. I have been debating about whether to buy another couple of packs of those or whether to go for the JL ones.

I do know that I am going to get a few more packs of the white sleepsuits from there, they are £3.75 for 3 and i have been told they wear well.

The paper in DSS's room is like that (I think it may have been Laura Ashley - the last owners did it) and when I asked him how he wanted to decorate his room he wanted yellow paint

I told him he could keep the stripey paper until he found himself a different favourite colour...it has been yellow/gold for about a year now:eek: Not your average 8 year old boys fave colour that's for sure!

Feely - i thought i was starting to panic about the hosptial part when i asked the question about the bags, but i know now it's not fear of the labour (i know it is going to be painful and i can't change that), but it's more the fear of not being prepared. hubby isn't the best organiser so things are left to me and i want to have everything right and ready.

Not necessarily. If you'd seen some of the hypnobirthing vids you'd be amazed at these women giving birth without a whimper. Women in the West have been indoctrinated to expect birthing to be painful and therefore they go into labour and tense up. The tension causes the pain because your fear is causing your body to reroute blood to the 'survival organs' (heart, lungs) required in fight or flight mode. The uterus & cervix are muscles. They are designed to flex and contract - does it hurt to flex your bicep or clench your fist? Yes there will be strange sensations because your body is doing something you haven't experienced before but it is a NATURAL process and women the world over manage just fine without all our fancy hospitals, classes and doctors because they know that it is NATURAL!!!!

Rant over:p (read your book - especially the first part)
