  • Good luck Sooz! Nothing is happening here as yet, but MW coming tomorrow and said I could have a sweep then if I want one, so hopefuly by the end of the week ~fingers crossed~

I'm taking a while to get going this morning - DH called me at 9:45 to make sure I was awake (otherwise I end up missing the day!) and I was so deep in dreamland I didn't know what the noise was - by the time I realised it was the phone he had hung up! I feel bad moaning about it though, seeing as all the normal people had to get up at "going-to-work" time!

    hi ladies,

    i am here :D:D
    {snip}
as for the facebook group, i would love to join but i am fiercly private, if i do join, will people be able to find me easily (not meaning MSE people)??

i have to go for my gestational diabetes test tomorow (which i had to chase for the appt) and i will be spending 2.5 hours ..oh the joy!!

I made it a closed group so only members can see what's in there so no, nobody will find you, unless they have been masquerading as a pregnant lady on here for months :rotfl:

Yes married dads automatically get PR so dont need to be present at registration (although it would be nice - atleast thats what I told my hubby)!!

    Thanks for that :)
He was there for Chris's coz we weren't married then but we are a bit undecided on a girls name so if its a girl we might not get to register while he's on pat leave so I may end up going on "my own" (I doubt I'll ever be truly on my own again for quite a few yrs now!)

In regards to the will alk yesterday and who gets custody, the only peple that we would really want to look after our child/ren would be my brother and his wife, and they live in NZ. Does anyone know if family over here (OH's crazy lot!) will be able to contest taking them out of the country? Bubs will have duel citizenship UK & NZ
I think make everyone aware of your wishes so hopefully they would respect that and not contest.
Get legal advice about what your NZ peeps should do in the event coz I'm sure it wouldn't be straight forward with them being in another country and they can put in the legal bits they need to ASAP at the time.

    Hi Ladies!

    Just a quick question...

Has anyone been for a glucose tolerance test? If so, what do they do, and does it really last 2 hours?

I've got to go for one next month, I can't even remember what for now??

Shell - As I understand it it does take a long time because they test ur blood then you drink some sugary drink then they have to let your body do its thing then test again to see if what it's doing is the right thing which takes at least an hour

I think SB and poss Krystal have had it done

I guess it depends on if they think you are at risk of gestational diabetes mainly :) Have you had any bloods done already that might have indicated a reason for them to want to test you?
If you are over weight they can also use it to detect subsets of hypothalamic obesity (not saying anyone who's had the tests are overweight btw - it's only one of the things they can use it to test!).

Edited to say that Yes Sami I am one of those annoying people who just has to find the answers because if I don't they bug the living daylights out of me :) I can't stand surprises either - drives husband up the wall! I ALWAYS want to know what pressies he's bought me before I get them :rotfl:

Good Luck Sooz :D I'll be thinking of you :D

    Sami - sent you a PM ;) I'm on facebook :D

got tonnes done over the weekend. Got little odd jobs done like putting up pictures etc and then started nesting like mad. I had such a burst of energy and couldn't sit still. The downside was that it was sooooooo hard to switch off at night. I finally dropped off and then at 4am my SIL in Oz text me and woke me up - all to ask when I was due :grrr: so didn't get back to sleep until 7am, just to be woken by hubby's alarm

needless to say i've spent the last couple of hours dozing in bed :D

 to everyone. I've just realised I had better do something about my hospital emergency bag just in case I need to go to hospital  I haven't got anything for it yet
