    Hi All....

Hope you are all well and we have some birth stories soon.

Talking of scans. I have my 12 week one on the 30th Dec by which time im about 13 and a half weeks. When I received the letter it said it is no longer necessary to have a full bladder for the scan.

Im not sure why as I thought they needed it full to see a clearer picture!!

Im starting to feel much better now. Tiredness is subsiding and no longer feeling sick.

Im 12 weeks tomorrow and glad to have reached that milestone x

Maybe they have a shiny new scanner that doesn't need it

My letter for 20wk says drink at least 1pt (not hot drinks or milk)
"DO NOT empty your bladder until after scan"
"it is very important to have a FULL bladder"
its actually in caps like that, they obviously think us wiganers are thick :D

Hmm.. so much for getting up early! I woke up at half ten and fell back to sleep until now.. oops! My shopping is on hold until tomorrow (only need a few bits and pieces and a new top for xmas day) but OH is going out to battle the crowds whilst I clean the house - not sure who got the short straw there!

Glad you're starting to feel better, angela. Just in time to have the energy to enjoy xmas! :)

I was told that you need the full bladder up until about 11-12 wks because a full bladder pushes the uterus up just enough so it can be seen easier with the scan, after that it's not necessary.

Today is a veg out day here. DH has been working all week and is finally off for the week, and we just decided today we are going to relax. Time enough to get ready for Christmas starting tomorrow.

Up to 13 weeks here, you are supposed to have a full bladder. After that, you don't.

When I had my first scan, it was about an hours drive and I was bursting when we got there. I ran straight in to the toilet before anyone could tell me not to! I was 11+5 and they didn't have a problem, seems strange that different places have different rules.

  • Hi Ladies.

Hope everyone is well, still have about 8 pages to catch up on, hehe

A quick question, Do any of you wear contacts? Mine were fine until about three days ago, its mainly my right eye and it just feels as if there is some grit in there but there isnt. Changed the lens and washed it and rinsed it! But its hurting really bad! I googled it and it seems quite normal to develop dry eye syndrome, But only in one eye? Has anyone any experience of this? Im so vain I dont like wearing my glasses :o Even though I spent a fortune on versace Diamante ones! :o

Thanks in advance for any advice

Good Luck SB Im sure it wont be long!
Be back in a bit to try and catch up with everyone else! But Joshuas room is needing a blitz!
