  • Hey hun,
Have you got a copy of the contract to check?? If not i would ask to see the contract. Dont think they can tie you in till sept.......more to protect them if you lost your job or didnt pay etc............... think they are trying to keep you there as you have been good customers. I would never have paid to renew a contract though....... cheeky sods!!!

Yay on the house though, your mum sounds ace!!! even though you will be paying pretty much the same out every momth, you sound so much happier at the prospect of moving.......... i am very jealous though......i want a big house like that!!!!!

keep smiling hun, good things happen to those who wait!!!!

Just read your whole thread from start to finish.... Sounds like you have been really put through it these pat few months - but things look really positive - if you get into this house then you will have made a huge step forward. I did something similar and its made a massive difference to my whole life in general - its enabled me to be debt free by around October / November this year! and I was in situations exactly like youres - so it can be done. Id go to citizens advice vis a vis your tenancy - that sounds 100% wrong especially as youve been in the house for so long! x

Hello Ped54, thank you for reading my thread - i hope it wasn't to boring for you LOL
Yes i have been thru it in the last few months and still am doing really but there are ppl worse off so cannot comlain i guess! Well done on being debt free by the end of the yr thats amazing. What did you do to improve ur situation, i would love to no!

    House update
Well since my last post, i phoned my letting agency and spoke to the manager and she asked me explain the situation. Told her we couldn't afford the rent, that mums house is empty and every month we have to stay here, her house is empty and she still has to pay the morgage. She said we have been good tenents and said to leave it with her. She got back to me and were moving out on the 21st June - cool!!
    So all systems go!!!!

Im so so pleased you got that sorted! I honestly think you have turned a huge corner here!

How did I do it? - well it hasnt been a nice ride I'll be honest. I gave up a nice apartment and moved into a shared house that cost me a great deal less - but all the money I saved went onto debt repayments. I gave up my contract phone, set myself rigid weekly budgets - all the usual really. It was just a big change in lifestyle, but it has been worth it, and I'm happier now than I was when I was spending the cash freely!

Looks like you've managed to make a big step forward - it'll just give you so much more space to breath!
