My diary - My ups and downs

Hello, I had my LBM at the end of November and was determined to get back on track with my debts and things. However yesterday my boss rang to tell me that it looks as though i am going to be made redundant after Xmas. I am worried and scared, i have a baby and bills and debt to pay. I am living with my partner who will help out but his wages won't cover all the bills and debt.
I am currently at work but will update more later tonight,

Smarties.

  • :santa2: Hello!

I am so sorry to hear your news especially this close to xmas but at least you have a few months to prepare, I read your other post and had to dash, but the guys are totally right - CV is the most important thing,

Now i don't know how you and your OH are fixed for babysitters and what your hours are but have you considered just getting a part time job in tesco's or something? i think they pay min wage and they are all looking for staff this close to xmas - even if you do it for 2 months it will all be extra money before you get laid off and you might even benefit from staff discounts....

Keep your chin up you will get through this x

Post your SOA and let the Whizz kids make suggestions...

  • Ahh thank you ever so much, yes i am willing to do anything. I am working now, but will be on later with a better reply.
  • Hello, well i have a job interview on Thursday for Yorkshire bank - job sounds ideal, just what i am looking for. I have applied for every single job going since finding out so fingers crossed for me.
On the money front, i am really struggling at the moment - i don't seem to appear to have enough coming in to pay everything. I just hope if i get a new job it'll be more money and i can get myself on track again.
I was wanting to try for another baby next year but i think i want to get myself on track first, so watch this space.
I could spend hours on here, i just don't get the time to go through as much stuff as i would like but i'll try and get as much info into my head for money saving as i can!

are you all set for xmas?? ds1 just cried on his first proper xmas as he was so overwelmed by it all!! then played with all the wrapping paper and boxes, typical.

post your soa and people will give their suggestions on how to cut back, which come to think of it no one did with mine....................... anyway think that would be best and check out the old style board for cheap meal ideas!! i have managed to cut my weekly shop down from £50-£60pw to £35-£40pw, including nappies and baby milk etc!! (as you prob know from my diary)
    December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

  • Hi Rags, thanks for popping over to my diary! Ahh yes i will get round to doing my soa but because i am going to be made redundant, it will all change in a few weeks the ins and outgoings so i think i may wait a few weeks. However i am really in need of some money making tips!
I will have a look on the old style boards, well done you for cutting back on the old shopping bill. When my little one stopped having formula i was soo pleased, saved me a fortune! My dad has been gettin us lots of chicken, all kinds.... my freezer has been full for weeks and i have been living off what we already had in fridge, cupboards etc and i have only really needed to buy the essentials, which has helped no end.
    Loving your diary x

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

  • Hello Smartie thought i would pop over and say hello on your diary!

Good luck for the interveiw today! i Hope it goes ok, im sure it will.
Let us know how you get on, and i hope they let you know quickly how you got on aswell, how nice would it be to know before xmas that you have a new job sorted!!!

Hope everything else is going ok and little one is fine.

For the extra money making look on up your income board, they have so many ways of making a little extra.. i try to do some clicks and get any shopping i have to through quidco. Mystery shopping is also good, i have only had a few but its a good way to get a little extra when you get thing offered to you. Also look into the surveys sites, they are good if you get one accepted onto. Lightspeed is a good one for me, i have cashed out a few times on them now, only £5 paypal and £5 amazon but helps also mums opinions are good when they offer you ones. Let me know if you want to join either as i can prob refer you and get some extra points!!! :)

ill be looking out for how you got on later.
    xx
