    Hi all,
Have been inspired by this thread and have some mung beans soaking as we speak. My 22 month old son helped me to measure them out and rinse them...He loved it.
Will let you know how it turns out!

If you use a special sprouter, save the water from your drip tray for your houseplants. You can also use the water you've rinsed your seeds in. Seems a shame to throw all those lovely nutrients down the plughole when your plants would lap them up!

Hey lynzpower!! My sprouts are looking really good now.

I must confess that I haven't done them in a jar this time!! :p

You know those microwave steamer thingys, I had one of those gathering dust in my tiny kitchen and thought "ah ha" there are holes on the top layer so that water can drip through and the beans can easily be rinsed then. And I have been putting them on kitchen roll too overnight so soak up any excess moisture and they're beautiful!!! So it's probably cheating but has worked for me!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I can send you a piccy of what I mean if you like?

    Hi guys,
I've done 2 lots of mung beans and they are ace. Have got some alfalfa seeds to try next.

Was wondering if anyone has ever sprouted linseeds/flax seeds?
    Can they be done?
    Any special requirements?

    Cheers!

I'm guessing that it will be sufficient to simply soak them overnight, but the packet says that they are suitable for sprouting AND that they need soaking then boiling for 10 mins..... is this right? I'd be grateful for help!
