ibootsale anyone??

Hello
I’m another very satisfied seller and buyer ibootsale.co.uk.
I’ve had plenty of sales on 2 different pitches, plus picked up some great bargains during the last two months.
As reported on the previous thread mentioned above, I also have listings on other sites and have not sold anything on those at all.
So www.ibootsale.co.uk is the place for me now. I can’t see them introducing extortionate fees etc. in the future if and when they do start charging as they will only lose all the people that have been joining lately. I did note that there were quite a considerable number joining over the Bank Holiday Weekend when the weather in certain parts of the country was horrible and ruled out normal car boot sales.
I had a quite profitable weekend and took a shopping trolley full to the post office today!!!0 -
I've set up a pitch, but can't upload any items. It just goes through to a blank page. Irritating as my pitch is now coming up on the homepage as a new site. Would be a great advert if I had anything on sale!

So that’s it you’re just going to give up and go back to paying extortionate fees on eBay. How about contacting technical support to find out what’s going wrong?
Since I’ve been on www.ibootsale.co.uk I’ve only had one problem:- I was using a lot of non alphanumerical characters in the item titles but what I’d typed was not completely showing in the actual listing.
Their technical support team were very helpful and quick to respond. Not being very technically inclined myself the crux of the matter is that character symbols like £ etc. when converted to html take the same space equivalent to 4 alphanumeric characters. It’s something they are looking into for a future update.
What I do now because I use ms word to write my item descriptions, apart from not using too many symbols anymore, I always do a quick check on the amount of characters I’ve used for the title and if it’s around 60 characters or less I know it will be displayed how I want it to.
I hope this helps others who are taking the plunge and doing alright on ibootsale.co.uk

elfinangels are you connected to this site? 9 out of your 10 posts are recommending it and all include links to it.
ive just had a look myself and it looks ok, seems a bit easier to navigate than ebid and some of the other ebay alternatives.0 -

Hello Jacksons Mum
No I’m not connected to the site in anyway, I’m just an ordinary punter having a major household life changing de-clutter, just coming out of 20 years of depression in which I can’t believe how much stuff I’ve accumulated and don’t use and trying to get back some of the vast amount of money I’ve wasted, plus buying the odd one or two bargain items on ibootsale.
I found out about the site on MSE when I was looking for an alternative to eBay because of their listings fees etc. As mentioned in my previous posts here, I have also tried Ebid, Tazbar and Cqout which were recommended also. So far I’ve had plenty of sales on ibootsale but absolutely nothing on the others.
As per the ethos of MSE all I’m doing is recommending to fellow money savers what I feel is a good site on which both sellers and buyers can save money and pick up bargains. I have not mentioned my pitches name or given links to it on MSE, only a link to their home page.
Posting on MSE these last couple of weeks has been my first ever time posting in a forum, and if I’m breaking any rules by posting links in my messages, recommending something to others and letting people know how things are going on there for me, I’m very sorry and will not post anymore.0 -

sorry, you arent doing anything wrong, it just looked a little suss that it was the only thing you had posted about. im probably just over suspicious as i fell for all the hype about big wardrobe posted by one of its owners and wasted a lot of time with that site0 -

Point accepted - I'm very impatient and not very techniquely minded!0 -
Does anyone know how you find sold items (old auctions) on ibootsale?0

That's brilliant - thanks very much. :T Been a bit short of time recently (father been in hospital) and hence my patience with such things has worn thin. Will try and give it some time over the weekend.0
