Someone who works in our local Woolies says that out the back they have a load of 75% and 80% off signs, so obviously they are going to move on a bit from the current "bargains".
The staff have also been told that their store will be closing down on 28 December. So if you want a Christmas refund you'd better be very very quick. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

Hiya all, i work for Woolies and I was expecting going in to work today with massive reductions. Couldnt believe that it was nearly all the same (except for 30% off clothing and 40% off bikes) but we also have had new pos in with up to 90% off but im assuming that this pos will not be going up in the individual stores until they have had there finished date like the one quoted above.
I do hope you all find some good bargins (cant wait till they reduce stuff again as we get staff discount too!) but please be poilte to the staff. Everytime someone said good luck to me i welled up!!
We had a real fire in our store today and customers were swearing at us and not moving from the queues!!!!
Good luck all, will post any good offers that I see coming through the tills :-)Freebies - Savvy Shopping Bag, Energy Saving Plug, Hugo Boss SampleWinnings - Dvd The Road sold on Ebay for a tenner:j0 -
Best bargain I got in Woolies was last Thursday, before Friday's 'up to 50% off' sale started.
Fifi Stack a Cake game £2, was £10 (currently £7.29 in Argos sale)
Fifi snap card game £1, was £2
Rupert Bear tube of figures 50p, was £3
Set of 3 Disney books £2, was £8
I did have to hunt for these, and doubt they would have still been there on Friday, so glad I got them when I did. My dd will be overjoyed with these toys at xmas.2017 - no clutter to be seen challenge: 72/2017

I got a some pencil cases ... ranging from 35p to 70p which IMO are bargains. Picked up some school uniform stuff from 75p to £1.00 each, funny novelty gifts from £1.50 to £2.50, kitchen goods from 25p to £3.67 ... again, IMO bargains and I didn't mind queing for them either. The staff were excellent and very polite given some of the twits that had to deal with ... they were getting through queues efficiently too.
What I did mind was the moaning miserable shoppers who would not shut their gobs about the lack of "bargains" and the 50% sign which does state "up to" And the abuse the poor staff were subjected because of these signs was disgusting!! Far too often one of these miserable "I deserve a bargain ... I demand a bargain" shoppers would stomp past F'ing and blinding their way out of the store! Shame on them I say ... IMO they are the ones that need to grow upI can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!I thunk I've made you think for a minute!:j :rotfl: :j0 -

Noticed a Woolies today that put up hand-made notices at their entrances reminding customers that it was 'up to 50%off everything' and not 50% off everything. They must have been getting some flack of some shoppers. Why don't some folk read things properly? My MIL argued with me last week that in her local woolies (the one I'm talking about above) WAS 50% off everything. I tried to tell her it wouldn't have been as my local wasn't, but she insisted. Turns out she never even went, someone had told her this. Was feeling slightly smug knowing she knew she was wrong in the end.2017 - no clutter to be seen challenge: 72/2017
