Yes the Woolies closing down sale was a complete fraud. They had no bargains, mainly 10% off - wow u got more than that off the Internet - shall we close down this timewasting board - no bargains - grow up !!!0

I went last friday when the up to 50% off started, managed to get a few bargains, as others have said many items had a lot more reduced at the till.
In my experience the staff were lovely, rushed off their feet but polite, cheerful and helpful. Given that their employment future is unsure it was really nice to see.
What wasn't pleasant to watch was the rude and obnoxious customers who marched up to staff demanding to know where the PS3's and XBOX 360's were as they were there to get a bargain. When it was explained to them that the store had run out the staff were subject to nasty verbal abuse by these ar$$eholes, unbelievable.

My local store is now putting new posters up in the windows, from the only one that was up at the time (Well the man was hanging it) said 'All stock reduced Liquidation sale' i think.
Not found too many bargins to be fair, but i got some bits i wanted anyway.
30 crappy pens 67p
4 sticky note pads 67p
wired PS3 compatable remote £4.50
womans diet magnet which says stuff when you press the button on the cake (pressie) £2.50
Christmas card, although im not sure what i paid for that, 50% off it though.
Money well spent. It was very busy and the staff looked shattered.
Although it was strange as everyone was looking at everyone elses stuff they had in their hands to see what they had picked up.

lets face it woolies sold crap at high prices, we all like the idea of old fashioned woolies where we shopped as kids but we can't afford to pay over the top just for the sake of nostalgia.
i think its a shame that woolies memory will be tarnished by people being duped into queing for ages to get really rubbish offers.0 -

Yep, I heard a Union bloke on the radio this afternoon saying some of their members have been reduced to tears because of shoppers 'losing their rag' and having a go at staff, because the prices weren't low enough for them.
I hope the ignorant miserable selfish s*ds who did this to the staff receive their come uppance, anyone can be made redundant, you may be next!0 -
