  • Big thank you to everyone. Was going to brave the queues and see if I could bag a few deals for xmas.
Sat in a nice warm house instead drinking coffee and looking through the Argos catalogue to decide what to get before the £10 voucher deal ends.
    WHAT A CON TRICK WOOLIES!!!!

Surely people would save more money but not spending just because its ''cheap'' never understood why people go mad during sales

Many people hold out till nearer Christmas hoping for reductions because they cannot afford full price or they begrudge paying full price knowing that prices are slashed on the 27th Dec. Or if your like me, you simply like getting bargains and don't know when to stop :o

In our economic climate I don't blame people for holding out!!! I am on the look out for Dr Who Scene It and refuse to pay £25+ for it, I know I will get it cheaper before Christmas it's just a case of being patient, if I don't get it I will wait until the post Christmas sales.
  • Thanks for posting guys! Was going to go into Dundee to see what bargains were to be had, but after reading this I won't bother. Wasn't impressed last week, so will stay at home today.

    It's only a game

Because most people generally use sale time to buy what they need or what they want, and don't spend over the odds. Especially clothes and household goods. This is a great thing to have at christmas, especially at a shop like woolworths because they sell everything - just more expensive than everyone else!

Anyway, attraction to sales isn't rocket science, really.

Just went into Peckham branch, was jammed packed with que's through the door.

Got a few bargains, there is another 10% discount taken off at the tills.

Glad we got there early. Think it will get more busy through the day.

I wont be going in at lunchtime then, thanks for this

Picked up a few things. Mainly stuff I have been looking out for anyway. My local sold out of all the big playdoh sets and I wanted one for my little girl for xmas. Had some back in stock today so picked one up. Nighmare getting it home...damaged the box. But plan to get a plastic box for it anyway. So I"m happy.

LIke elsewhere everyone rushed to the entertainment section...groaned and then went elsewhere.

Yep shot down to woollies early this morning. film cameras rolling for the news. Then found out is was the same up to 50% off on selected lines only as when I popped in last week. Not disappointed though, as still had a present to get for my nephew and had to exchange something I'd bought last week. Picked up the wrong size in the mad rush:o Anyway as for the poster, It was on our local radio claiming everything was 50% off!!!! So why would you or anyone else think any different:rolleyes:

So wanted to wish the staff a Happy xmas, but didn't feel right in the circumstances. :o but did in the end and despite everything it made them smile. Bless um and good luck to them all.
