I'm sad to see our woolies go. As a small market town, this is the only large store of its type we have. Unless its replaced by wilkinsons or another similar retailer (no more supermarkets required) this town will die, tescos has already killed off most of the smaller stores.
I cant face woolies tomorrow, last week was bedlam, queues for miles. No hope with or without the pushchair. Just wish the sale is over a long period of time. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.:hello:0 -
Do you think there's anu chance that they'll be discounting stuff like PS3s, TVs and other electrical equipment?0

What do Woolworths sell that might be worth buying?Happy chappy0

woolworths sale is still the same as last week all entertainment 10 % 20% of home goods 50%of gifts and 30 % of deccies my daughter works in one of the stores
they still do not know how much work is left as they are not telling them much but dont go in thinking that its 50% of all stock hope this helps emma0 -
Don't go expecting 50% off everything, my friend who is a store mgr for them has said it will be the same as it has been, so no xtra discount!
The administrators want to give the impression that there will be massive discounts, but they haven't mentioned that stock is going to be reduced further.
Chuckley, the store wouldn't have recieved any p.o.s yet for any new offer, they only got told today0 -

It may actually be a quite "clever" marketing ploy! I do not doubt for one minute that Woolies are going to close down but by stating "closing down sale" (which they will start doing as from tomorrow), it encourages consumers to get in there looking for the "bargains" and then people actually end up buying things they really do not need !!!
I went in for the "up to 50%" reduction last week and managed to get my niece a travel cot for her baby for £24 which was a total bargain. In looking around the store, there really was nothing else I wanted or needed.
As for the staff losing their jobs etcetera, consumers are actually doing them a favour by continuing to shop in Woolies until the bitter end because it pays their wages and keeps them in employment for at least another few weeks - they are going to lose their jobs in any event and yes it is sad but the flip side is if you buy the "bargains" you are paying the staff's wages a bit longer!
Happy bargain hunting everyone - I think I will give it a missI discovered I always have choices and sometimes it's only a choice of attitude :j0
