What are they gonna do about it? ;) I don't think the staff at woolies will be worried about getting a warning when they know they are losing their jobs anyway!
    2008 wins £4405 2009 wins £7194 2010 wins £9615

Best wins ever: Laptop, £1000 John Lewis vouchers, PS3, Xbox 360 iPad Mini

    OMG good point :D

id say the managers were ransacking the place this evening after they broke the news! more power too them... can buy up all consoles n flog em on ebay for maybe double or more?!
  • Just been by my local Woolies & they have the same Old UP TO 50% posters & looking thro the windows the still have the 10% 20% strips on the shelves. So maybe its not going to be 50% of everything after all.
  • YaaaaY!!! Im not a vulture(and getting sick of people comming on this thread having a go at us all) but like everyone else i like a good bargain, and why not if we dont someone else will. After all this is a GRAB IT THREAD not a feel sorry for woolies thread, yes it is a shame about the staff, ect but theres nothing we can do. Now lets just all stick to the subject of what bargains we might or have got from woolies. Im going to go in my lunch hour, its going to be CRAZY,wonder if il get time to eat?!!!
I cant wait to read the board tomorrow with what bargains everyone has got!

GOOD LUCK FOR TOMORROW EVERYONE!!!!! x
  • Is this definitely happening tomorrow and will all stock be reduced?

EDIT - I now know as I have read the whole thread :D

It is sad people are losing their jobs, but if MSE folk don't get the bargains, others will anyway and who knows, if they make enough money to clear debts, they may just hang on a bit longer!

Brings back memories, working in chelsea girl (then it became river island) wow the bargains we got from our 'special rail' in the stockroom, lol.

My xmas shopping is finished now so I won't be there tommorow, but I do hope the sale goes well and you all get the bargains that your after. I also hope that the staff manage to get some bargains for themselves.

My first job was working as a sa at woolies - 4 till 5:30 after school - loved it
  • it's the first place i head for when kids have been invited to birthday parties BUT....................................i luv a bargain just as much as the next person.
my local store at balham had loads of new stock in today tho most wasn't clearing off the shelves cos still only 20% but hopefully tomorrow there will be bargains to be had. I'll be there as soon as i've dropped kids at school.

i wish tesco would buy the stores and turn them into little clothes stores, i luv they're kids stuff some of their adult stuff is nice too.
