Just realised why i woke up at stupid o clock.... DR's gave me steriods... yep you guessed it they cause insomnia..>>>

When I was taking steroids when I had my chemo they did keep me awake but they also made me slightly hyper-active, and my house has never been so clean.I was constanly on the go hoovering washing everything in sight washing and ironing and cooking .I felt like an overwound clock:rotfl: Plus of course it makes you eat like a horse as well and the lbs pile on.I'm not a slender person anyway and put weight on very easily. I thankfully don't take them anymore, and my house has relaxed back to its normal slightly 'natural looking' place again. I was even going to my DD's house and looking for cleaning to do to try and tire myself out:D needless to say thats stopped now :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Evening all :hello:

Thanks again for all your kind thoughts and prayers for my friend. I can't pass them straight on to her because I have got the impression that she is feeling really sensitive about people asking about her health at the moment - I mean you can't not ask, can you, but last time I did ask she changed the subject very quickly and unsubtly :o So next time there is a appropriate time to mention it, I'll let her know how many people are thinking about her :) I should be seeing her at a party on 27th if she's well enough, and I chat to her on Facebook regularly.

Hugs in return for taplady, mioliere, MSD, meanmarie, catznine (plus any I have missed), to be passed on to all your poorly friends and relatives.

Jorgan I'm so sorry you'll be losing your job. It really is a terrible time in the EA industry at the moment :(

celyn, your rose cake thingy looks amazing!

redruby, I got the Christmas Radio Times this morning, there's a BBC2 broadcast from the Royal Opera House of Hansel and Gretel on Christmas afternoon at 3pm :) I don't know if it is any good yet cos I am seeing it live next Thursday :D but the cast looks really amazing so should be very good. I'll let you know ;)

ravylesley, I know what you mean about Aldi. There are some things there which really do work out fantastically cheap (like the Super Six fruit & veg offers) and others which are high quality goods for the price of Tesco Value (like tinned tomatoes). But generally I go to Aldi for specific things, and Lidl/Netto if the only intention is to get things cheap. Being very much on an average level income-wise, I can't justify M&S prices, but I can justify M&S-quality goods at Aldi prices, IYKWIM :D

I had a carefully laid plan to go to Asda and Aldi this evening for various odds and ends, but never made it to Aldi as my bags were so heavy after I finished at Asda :o The main purpose of going there was to pick up a bottle of Glenfiddich for my dad's Christmas present as they have it for £16 at the moment which is a fantastic price. But while I was there I found a YS corn-fed free-range chicken reduced almost by half, and some YS lamb mince which is always good as I'm a bit addicted to shepherd's pie :D So I revised my shopping list to postpone a few purchases that can wait till tomorrow, and went straight home :D

Wrapped dad's present (I've been wrapping them as I get them this year - I already feel soooo much more in control than previous years!) and then started cooking - I now have a maHOOsive pot of bolognese sauce on the stove at the moment; half or perhaps more will be made into a lasagne and the other half I will freeze in portions for spag bol.

Now I am going to try and get a couple of reviews finished

    Love Rzl xx

Hi everyone - not had much time to come on here today but I had to tell you all that LO is now off the ventilator and breathing on her own; she's not out of the woods yet but this is the most hopeful positive news we've had all week.

Just popping back to say kathy, that's very positive news :). Hope things keep moving the right way...
