DH and DDs have set off to work and school so having a cup of tea and a browse on here.

DD(14) has just informed me the home made bread rolls are too substantial for her to eat at school (she has a brace!) so have agreed to substitute very thinly cut home made bread instead!

No idea what to make for tea as DH is away overnight and only me and two DDs to think about.

If I could stir myself to make a huge lasagne then that would feed us for two lots of meals- DD turns her nose up at home made soup but everyone else loves it. Sainsbury had an offer on Quorn mince last week so have some in the freezer.

If I brace myself for going out in the cold later I might see if inspiration strikes at Sainsburys.

BOW sounds a constant source of "joy and delight!";)

    Hugs to everyone feeling poorly.

Have just scrubbed DDs mud soaked trainers and have put them in the washing machine just now to see if that sorts them out further.

DD complaining his morning that her PE kit was dirty but that she would have to wear it anyway.

Managed to bite my tongue and make no comment althought the statement that she was nearly 15 and old enough to know that the laundry fairy can only wash what is given to her was trembling on my lips- as was the statement that if a PE kit is left screwed up stinkin dirty after just one wearing in a plastic bag and left around the house for days - how is anyone supposed to know about it?

Brrrrr it's freezing here today, and am up early as the new cooker and dryer are arriving, which meant I had to clean behind my old cooker:eek:    least said about that;)
Later on i'm catching up on a pile of washing and drying, and testing the cooker out.Might even make pizza dough in my new breadmaker, although I don't think I have got the bread right yet, it is quite stodgy, so any advice would be welcome:o :o
N9EAV I feel so sorry for your OH with the teaching job situation.I am in a jobless state at the mo, due to the gov employing cover supervisors, and I also can't get other jobs due to being over qualified:rolleyes: I wonder when the gov will stop encouraging people into teac her training, as there are no jobs about for the thousands that are qualifying each year:mad:
Anyway rant over, and HUGGLES to all in need today xx:A

Had just made a pot of tea and put in by the computer and then gone upstairs to visit the loo - only time since 6.45 a.m. I had not been downstairs- just as I was unable to leave (to put it politely) the phone rang - and rang - and rang!

I raced down the stairs nearly falling down them and picked up the ringing phone only for it to go dead!!!!

Tried to phone back but "number withheld!"

Now don't know wether to stay by the phone in case it is important or to just go out as I had planned!

Going to bleach the sink to take my annoyance out on an inanimate object!!!!!

Might treat DDs to fish and chips tonight since they miss him when DH has to stay away overnight, or else offer to get them something they like instead.

There is a book called "What else can teachers do?" that might be worth taking a look at.

    Maybe private tutoring etc?

Or helping the thousands of people the government has decided should be helped to go back to work - just as we begin the worst recession in history?

Have started to sneeze now so might just have a hot lemon drink and try to perk myself up a bit before venturing out in the cold.

Morning everyone, freezing here this morning.

Bit of a shock yesterday, the boss told us he is closing the office in January, he has decided not to renew the lease on the building, so we are all out of work in the New Year. Wasn't expecting it as I've spent hours sorting out plans with architect as the rental department were due to relocate here in January, finalised things with him on Monday afternoon.

OH has her DLA tribunal this afternoon as well, so an interesting 24 hours in our household.

Chin(s) up and have a good one everybody.
