Only had a quick read through as I've got to go try to make myself look human for a meeting as DS3's school
First 'proper' one since he started in the new ASD Base so need to try and come across as vaguely sane... *well I can try*
Staff there have worked miracles so its bound to get me all emotional
Huge hugs to all those struggling ATM will catch up later..I'm getting withdrawals from O/S as I've been so busy:rotfl:
Love to all

Morning peeps
another freezing cold day here, i woke early so i have most of the little jobs done already the bm, dw & wm have all been emptied and the clothes are hanging on the radiator airers - i don`t know what i would do without them now as the clothes dry so quickly now that the heating is on all the time.
Both the doggies have been walked and brushed and i`ve just been down the garden to check the greenhouse and found that the mixed salad leaves that i planted last week are already peeping through the soil, i didn`t really think that they would grow in such a cold environment.
((((HUGS)))) today to both Lesleys and Donny_gals friends, Tristan, the little one and catz friend too. So many poorly people - it is very sad.
((((HUGS)))) to for all affected by redundancies, it is really a terrible blow, so many people are expecting the worse. Where DH works over half the workforce have been laid off and we are a bit nervous as he is next in line. No job seems to be safe at all.
Betheebee - I am so sorry to hear about your rabbits, nature can be so cruel sometimes
I was going to have an hour working on our finances this morning but i won`t bother as i know that we have overspent our budget, my fault i`m afraid this timei bought the new doggie bed but hopefully after Christmas i shall be able to claw some of it back by living out of the freezer and from the storecupboard for a while so the grocery budget can be used to pay other things. I already have a rolled turkey breast and hm sage onion and sausagemeat stuffing in the freezer for Christmas dinner and also some hm roasties that i froze and somewhere in the depths is bacon and sausage for the pigs in blankets so most of it is already taken care of.
Only i like Christmas pudding so i shall give that a miss this year and pudding will be Divas apple cake served warm with custardmmmmm i can almost taste it.
I shall make the mince pies at the last minute as i can`t freeze them as the freezer is bursting full
The pizzas that i made last night were marvellous even though i had to use passatta as a sub for tomato puree, i went to get the tin of puree out and found that it was in fact a tin of pilchards :rotfl: everything else on the pizza was already in the fridge so we had cheese and tomato, salami, mushrooms, peppers, oregano and fresh chillies with grated garlic and chilli flakes on top YUM! Candygirl - i made the pizza dough to the recipe in the panny book if that helps. If you have a different breadmaker or no booklet the recipe book can be downloaded from the panny website.
I`ve rambled on for an age! must get in the shower or i`ll be late for w*rk.
Have a good day everyone - keep warm.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Hi all
Jorgan, sorry to hear your news ((hug for you))
WS - Hope you are okay
Hester - You're so tolerant. I'd have accidently-honestly-not-on-purpose locked her in the archive room by now
House guest is driving me nuts. It's like having a 30 year old child to stay. If he says "I'm bored" one more time I will loose it completely. He's fed up because we don't have a TV and just wants to go shopping all the time (which is fine but he's whining because we don't have a car and he can't hire one as he's had his license suspended for speeding offences back in Germany). I have persuaded him he wants to go to London today as there is no point coming all this way just to wander round Oxford city centre all day.
Last night we all went for fondue at a mutual friends house then back to ours to watch a film. I tried to leave after dinner and let guys watch a movie at the friends house, but they all insisted on coming back to ours as I can't possibly not want to spend the evening with them. *thud* <- that being the sound of my head hitting the wall repeatedly. Honestly, I'm so busy and it was the last thing I needed - I couldn't work because they were using my computer to watch the film, couldn't study/sleep because they were making so much noise and couldn't finish my sewing because the machine would have disturbed them. So I locked myself in the kitchen and made this:
Tonight I'm playing Carcassonne with some guys from work. Anything for some peace!
Two days left....:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
I'm back and I've survived another week :rotfl:
After nagging FIL about litter trays, I've put a new sack of litter in the cupboard next to the tray. He now has no excuse
I came home to find that 2 of the guinea pigs have peed for England, so I've just emptied their hutch and they're enjoying a runaround in the kitchen at the mo.
I recorded CSI Miami last night, I'll watch it while eating lunch. Then it'll be breadmaking and cardmaking for the rest of the day.
I had Saviour's Day on my list for the 20th, but as Cliff drives you all mad, I've changed itNot telling you what the new song is, you'll have to wait 10 days
Baz is trying to get my attention by pulling on my shoe laces :rotfl:Bulletproof0 -
Have just scrubbed DDs mud soaked trainers and have put them in the washing machine just now to see if that sorts them out further.
DD complaining his morning that her PE kit was dirty but that she would have to wear it anyway.
Managed to bite my tongue and make no comment althought the statement that she was nearly 15 and old enough to know that the laundry fairy can only wash what is given to her was trembling on my lips- as was the statement that if a PE kit is left screwed up stinkin dirty after just one wearing in a plastic bag and left around the house for days - how is anyone supposed to know about it?
I know just what you mean I have 2 DD's aged 13 and 15 and they are just the same. thats if they remember to bring their kit home in the first place
jorgan thats terrible news hope you find something soon
Taplady/ Moliere thoughts and prayers toyour families and friends and all the other poorlies as well0 -
Jorgan - so sorry to hear of your news. I do hope something works out for you soon.
Celyn - that looks so amazing.
Have put breadmaker on.
I do feel very silly, but still a little 'off'. Fortunately evil cat has done all in her power to take my mind off things.
Hugs to allAnkh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
I've just managed to lose another post, bah.
Made butterfly cakes last night for a friend who split up with his gf yesterday, made him cut the tops off for the wings though. None left today, lol.
That's about it for OS! Must go, have a huge list of things to do (which were in the original post and freaked me out) and also just realised it's only a week 'til my Lsis birthday. Must send card and pressie! Meant to do this already, lol.
Right, *huggles to all who need/want them, special thoughts to all those who have it tough at this time of year too. Take care and keep warm.0 -

If you couldn't study or go to bed because they would have disturbed you, I would have done some sewing - just to disturb them! But I must admit that your creation looks lovely!0 -
Afternoon all
I've been MIA for a bit; managed to read yesterday's thread, but was pushed for time so didn't post.
Beth, so sorry about the rabbits. What an awful shock.
Sybil, you poor thing, you make sure the pervert gets reported. If that'd been me, he'd have had one of my walking sticks shoved where the sun doesn't shine - the one with the stags horn handle complete with antler points!!
Mr LW has kindly cut some root veg up, so we can have veggie stew tonight; I'm not up to doing anything more complicated.
Not sleeping at night, was lying awake til silly o'clock last night, then of course I'm no use to man nor beast during the day.
Mr LW has got the Yule decs out of the loft, and they're sitting in a little heap in the hall, but I really can't be bothered. I shall need help with them in any case, as I can't be climbing about to hang things up, but really I can't raise any enthusiasm whatsoever.
I have made a Yule cake, but I'm not sure what design to use for icing it. May have a go at making tomato bread some time soon - I have a recipe, just have to find the courage to try it out.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
