Hello folks. Sorry to hear of all those redundancies. It is a difficult time of year for those, not that they are easy at any time.
(((hugs))) to those who are under the weather, including suffering from SAD. Hope you get some sunshine today.
Cold here and a dusting of snow overnight. I see that the weather is to change for the weekend, with a band of rain coming in.
Sybil - don't be hard on yourself - you had a nasty experience yesterday and it might take a while to get that out of your mind. Hope you have some knitting or craftwork to do and of course little bear will keep you occupied
Tea tonight is 2nd day HM veg soup and then some frozen fish and veg. We had the same last night except tinned salmon instead of the frozen fish. Need to investigate some mystery packages in the freezer to make room for Christmas fare
Keep warm today everyone

Morning all!
The decorator turned up! Not until 1400 yesterday - had a morning crisis apparently, but he is here and finally finally my bathroom ceiling will be painted and the paintwork all glossed up! That was why we needed a decorator but we then realised how tatty the hallway was so again, all paintwork is being glossed and ceiling painted and wallpaper put up. AND I paid for it all from the money I earned doing reviews the last three months!! Worked all hours and had headaches for a few days from staring too hard and too long at the computer screen but it was worth it now!
bargainbird - CONGRATULATIONS hon, so glad it went your way
Rzl - Sorry to hear about your friend, I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers along with Lesley, Catz' friend and the little girl
Sybil - so sorry you had that experience, it must have been horrid!
Tru - I love to hear about the pigs, it always makes me smile.
Hester - oooh a new oven - I am envious! I do know how you feel though, I bought my new posh fridge 2 years ago and I still get a thrill opening it up and seeing how gorgeous it is!
Celyn - that looks fab!
Can't move round the house much as present as all the doorways in the hall have been glossed! My poor OH had a migraine yesterday so just as the decorater arrived, he went to bed and didn't stir til this morning. He said he felt rough but being here with the smell of paint would have made him worse so he toddled off to work as usual.
OS things - WM is on BM has just finished and tonight we are eating from the fridge and freezer so hopefully my OH won't be spending anything at any shops! (which will be good for our December grocery challenge!)
Just watching the news with an item about a ceremony awarding children for their bravery in Westminster Abbey. Prince Harry was chatting away so easily to all the children. The childrens stories made a real lump come to my throat.to everyone who needs them today, and
to everyone who is under the weather.

good afternoon to all, I don't post very often, except when i need answers to random questions!! But wanted to get myself a little pat on the back from you lovely people. I made aroast chicken dinner yesterday, normally that would be an achievement in itself, I was up a 5 thismorning stripping the leftover chicken and making a curry. I also saved leftover veggies and kept back a bit of chicken and will be having chicken and veg pie tomorrow( fingers crossed, another first!). Also made banana bread with a couple of bananas that would normally have been binned.
I am growing some veggies on my balcony and they are doing pretty well so far, they are alive anyway, so thats good enough for me!
Work is pretty quiet for me through the winter, only a couple of hours most days, so no excuse for junk food anymore. Hopefully by the time summer comes aroundI will be so used to all this good food that pizza just won't be the same.
I look forward to getting to 'know' you all0 -
Afternoon all,
Seem to have a 'couldn't be bothered' head on these days, just sitting around thinking about things that need to be done but doing nothing...so useful. Did order a skip for Friday so that I can get rid of stuff that is no good to anybody, also hoping to have all three sons around to load it up...ordered it on line through pigsback then they rang to say that I could have it for €23 less if ordered on phone so naturally I went with phone order, piggypoints would only have meant €9 so at least there is something working in the head!
Cold again here, shepherds pie for dinner although I am sure that Ulick will buy himself a piece of steak as he hates shepherds pie...his problem, I would rather have the pie.
DD1 rang yesterday to say that she and DD3 will do the Christmas dinner this year so that I can have a break, so I said yes please very quickly, will operate in a supervisory capacity if needed but otherwise just sit and talk to people....nice.
Hugs to all in need or want, some nasty things happening to people at present.

Afternoon Everyone
Celyn- I must be thick but what is your creation??:o
Taplady-Hopes and prayers are with you today
Went for a mooch round Aldi this morning and was very surprised at what I found as its changed from being a cheap and cheerful supermarket into a continental supermarket with some very high class products in.Its not for me but I'd reckon if you were an M&S shopper you'd love it and it would be dead cheap.Nice to look round though
WM been on and run round doing my domestic goddess bit with a feather duster:rotfl: .Chilli and rice for tea with choc sponge and custard for pud

Hi all,I am so sorry to hear of all these redundancies and it always seems worse before Christmas.Hope s'thing turns up Jorgan, and others.
Thinking of those with poorly friends and family.
Sybil,hope you're feeling calmer today,horrible man.
I've got the Remoska on with some belly pork in,that I picked up at Mr T reduced.I went to a different store than usual, but shall be going again.I hadnt realised but its been extended from being quite a small one, they've put another level in.Its easier to get to on the bus than the other one,and seemed to have more YS meat. Also got some braising steak,so that will be tomorrows tea sorted.
Right I'm going to make a cake in the Panny as there have been complaints re the lack of.I might feel more enthusiastic if it lasted a bit longer-I suppose its a compliment really.
Take care everybody.x

Afternoon all! Sorry haven't had a chance to read back yet, so hugs to all in need and congrats where due.
Been cleaning and cooking most of the day, kitchen is now in some sort of order at last, sitting room is almost reclaimed from dds' card making, sugar all over the stairs is but a distant memory (nope, I don't know why it was there either!), my bedroom tidied and pressies stacked neatly, wm, bm, yoghurt all going, rolls made for tomorrow's lunches, hobnobs cooling, assorted other things in fridge or ready for freezing.
Friend also popped in for coffee, nice chat and catch up.
Pasta for dinner tonight, ratatouille type sauce to go with it, plus salad and garlic bread.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the day xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
