Well done. I did my buildings and contents earlier this month and Direct Line came out the cheapest. Don't forget Direct Line aren't part of comparison sites and neither are Norwich Union. Good Luck, I hate doing insurance

Thanks, I too can't stand doing it, but I know it has to be done.

Just tried More Th>N and it came to £202 for buildings and free contents insurance, and £70 cashback from Quidco = £132.

Tried Norwich Union which also gives free contents insurance with the buildings (looks promising), and the site was suffering from technical dificulties, so I'll have to try later.
They also offer £70 cashback via Quidco.

It must be time for me to get my head around Quidco and what it is.

    What a lovely day! :j

I've just finished work and I am now relaxing in the garden with a cold drink.

My OH is in hospital recovering from a minor surgery (everything went well), so I have to go and visit him shortly with a food parcel. :D
He should be home by Monday.

It's been a good month with business and pleasure combined.

    Business
    £660 mortgage overpayment
Requested a reduction in mortgage term so that we can pay an extra £50 a month. It may not become active until July's payment.
    £280 from cashback accounts
[STRIKE]£75 (potential) from ING Direct referrals[/STRIKE]

    Pleasure
    Holiday in New York.

Earlier this month I booked flights to Miami (in September) with Expedia for £230 each.
We'll stay in Miami for 1 night and then drive to Naples for a week before returning to Miami. Accomodation will cost £440.

I think some of the people who asked for my codes haven't used them, so I won't count on that money.
One of the people sent me a PM today after it was too late to offer it to someone else.
    Highly suspicious.

My OH is getting better but will still be off work for another week and a half.
I'm not used to the Florence Nightingale routine, but I did say "In sickness and in health".
I do think he is taking the P**s now and again (MEN!), but I'll let him enjoy his time in bed, because he'll have lots of making up to do when he is better. :D

He's given me his petrol money for the month (£45), as he is off for 3 weeks, and I will be adding it to the overpayments for this month.

£500 standing order overpayment has reached the mortgage account.
New monthly mortgage payment hasn't been actioned yet, so it should be up and running next month.

Entered electricity readings earlier this week and we have a £12.50 credit, but it has been a little warmer, so I won't read too much into that just yet.
I've changed gas supplier to British Gas Websaver 3 tariff, which is operated online and I went through Quidco and £25 has tracked.

I'm still researching buildings and contents insurance and More Th>n is the front runner, coming in at £132 after £70 cashback via Quidco.
