Sent another £100 across to the mortgage account today.
That takes the total overpayment for this month to £600.
OH will be adding another £100 when that clears, and then I'll add a further £100.
Sold £190 of stuff on eBay so far this week, with a possible £100 due to finish on Sunday.
It's Friday, so added £5.83 to the VSP and total is now £91.75.0 -
Very nice to see those all adding up to a very healthy OP, well done.0

Allied Carpets have finally agreed to supply and refit the stairway and landing carpet, after a year of me complaining (about the shoddy and dangerous workmanship) and them sending every type of 2nd rate fitter they have on their books (11 visits in total). :j
Their best fitter is going to do the work (so finger crossed).
We've also decided to have new carpet fitted in the 3 first floor rooms (2 double and 1 box).
The discount that Allied have offered us is sizeable, but the carpets we want are seriously overpriced, as I've discovered by my internet research this morning.
It would be cheaper to buy online and pay the fitter directly by approximately £250  , which is what I'm going to do.
It should cost about £525 in total.
Carpet is being paid for from my eBay sales pot.
The fitter that Allied Carpets sent did an excellent job, so we will be using him again.
I managed to get the carpets for £386 + £17 (for grippers) + £70 for the fitter.
So £473 in total and less than expected. :j
We just have to clear the rooms (I'm dreading it) ready for the fitter. Hope to have it done within the next fortnight.
OH hasn't been paid overtime, so I'll get that off him next month.
I will still pay an extra £300 (on top off the £500 standing order) this month and see if I get away with it..0 -
Well done on those fantastic ops
and for the savings made on the carpet

I sent £150 online to the mortgage account on Thursday evening and it hasn't reached the account yet, so it will be added to next month's total.
New carpets have been fitted and have transformed the rooms they have been fitted in. Money well spent. :j
Booked the hotel for our 6 day trip to New York in May (£790 after Quidco).
My spending money was purchased last year at a rate of nearly $2 to the £1 (Caxton FX travel money card and a little cash). :j0 -
