it was downloading at 240KB from a news group. it was about the four hour mark i am just trying to find out exactlyA shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Why I don't believe this is true.....................
240KBps=1.92Mbps
1.92Mbps X 60=115.2Mb per minute
4GB=4096MB
4096MB=32760Mb
32760Mb (4GB) / 115.2Mb (megabits per minute) = 284 minutes
284 minutes / 60= 4.73 hours =4 hours and 44 minutes
These figures are for a constant speed over that timescale. If you are going to make things up. At least make it look realistic.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I still have no connection. The dialup number they gave out before the upgrade has never worked for me.
It is now TWO whole days with absolutely NO update whatsoever on the e7even website.
THIS IS TOTALLY AND UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLE. This is how to treat customers like ****.
Whatever the technical problems are - to continue to give NO information is just not on.
No wonder rumours abound.
If e7even are serious about continuing in business then even I, as a non-business person - can see that keeping customers completely in the dark about an ongoing situation is simply akin to saying - well you may as well all **** off - we don't care about you.
I have now decided to jump ship and get my money back via my credit card company. I was going to wait a bit longer, and I can accept technical problems up to a point - but I will NOT put up with getting NO information and NO reply to any communication.
I'm out.0 -
To all our customers,
First and foremost we would like to unreservedly apologise for the ongoing broadband network problems that some of our customers are experiencing.
As you know we have been working on moving customers to the new networks and this has been a much more challenging task then we had hoped, however, we are making progress and hope to have all the reshuffling finished during the course of next week.
Obviously Customer Services and Technical support are much busier than usual responding to emails and phone calls to get customers back online and we appreciate that it is very frustrating not being able to get a quick response, but again we are working on this and drafting in extra resources to try and ease the situation.
Once all the network changes and upgrades are complete we will be making a formal offer of compensation to all users affected and simply ask that you be patient a little longer so that we may concentrate on resolving the problems at hand.
Finally, it has not helped that customers on the BBUK realm have been further affected by a router interface problem which we have engineers working on today and we hope to have a resolution to this shortly.
This is an information note only and we will not enter into communication about it's contents we feel at this stage, as we are sure you agree, that our resources are better spent resolving the network issues.
E7even
Above copied and pasted message on the e7even website must have appeared today at some point or perhaps yesterday late afternoon after I visited it. I am having trouble too, no home connection since Saturday but am hoping its all fixed soon as I was pretty happy with the service up until now. There have been a couple of glitches from time to time but since I signed up in the summer time have had no significant problems and my speed has always seemed good.
Fingers crossed things are sorted soon one way or another!I love this site! :j0 -
'Fraid it's not that fresh seekaywun - that was posted by their (alleged) representative in the ADSLGuide open forum for e7even matters back last Friday 6/1 and I think it appeared on the website homepage shortly afterwards.
So the meagre update on the ADSL situation on the e7broadband.com website's Network Status page is more upto date, although still 2.x days old and its clear lots of subscribers are still having lots of problems (fortunately not myself on LLU e7even.com access - and keeping my fingers very crossed!)
It says:
"Update: 9th Jan 2006 10:12.
"Engineers have been working on the bbuk realm connection over the weekend and there has been some improvement in the issues that users were experiencing last week. However the underlying problem is yet to be resolved and we will be continuing to work on this problem throughout the day."

I have copied and retained all their meagre updates and can confirm that the 'apology' with 'no communication being entered into' has been on the home page for days.0

Hi guys, yeah i'm still around hehehe
Don't believe all the nonsense that is posted
The administration headline is likely to be nonsense, just throwing petrol on the flames
(no offence, Deleted_User, not blaming you)
Nutter is correct, there are people with good connections on e7even, but he/she may possibly be using the -reserve.com logon ?? (this is the new part of the network, which is really Euro1Net)
Also, it seems that new signups will not necessarily be put onto the new part of the network.
There are stories of some people being put on @bbuk (poor souls).
But by their term "new distributed network", what they really mean by that is the three-way split.
To re-iterate, that is keeping their old network, using network belonging to Netservices, and network belonging to Euro1Net (yet despite being questioned, they deny any involvement with Euro1Net, so work that out for yourself).
The very worst connections are on the @bbuk part of the network which they hire from Netservices (and as used by other vISPs) !
Apparently someone has spoken to Mike Todd, so don't expect an early fix. He was talking about a week, but as we all know with e7even, a week turns into two weeks which turns into a months etc etc.. (just don't expect a quick fix from e7even, we've learned that from the past)
Mk-donald is correct, that is old news, unfortunately.
If you are on @bbuk and want out, it may take a few days for them to arrange a MAC code, since it is not their network (despite Mike Paterson saying otherwise!!).
Deleted_User, retry your old logon, it may work, but worth trying all the logons
username@e7even-reserve.com
username@e7broadband.com
username@e7even.com
username-e7even@bbuk
even if you are trying the correct one it may take several attempts before it works.
Try them all a number of times.
and i agree with the point concerning the poor updating of the network status on their website.
Just a reminder that the place to keep up with what's happening is over here
Good Luck...0
