I have thought about having him as my avatar, but he is very distinctive, and I worry about being recognised via himself. How's about I put up a picture when I clear the cards?
Will be having a long waffle later, need to get some opionions/help and would value your input Dragon, so keep an eye out for me please.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Sunshine&Stars wrote: »Hi there!
Love your diary.
Has given me a much needed reminder why I need to stay on track and pay off my CC's.
Do you use a particular spreadsheet? Would love to see a template? Not the actual figures but just the layout / how it works etc.
Do you fancy sharing your meal planner?
Sorry - don't mean to be rude and steal all your hard work, am just impressed with it and as a fellow money pit owner (soz neddy owner) - need all the help I can get!! LOL!!!!
Well hello fellow horse person :hello:there are quite a few of us hidden on the threads you know! Mine's the reason you'll never see a SOA from me as he actually costs more than the mortgage
Happy to post up the meal planner, I am a veggie though! The spreadsheet is so cobbled together I'm amazed it works! Excel does not come easily to me, I'm an artist not a mathematician! Basically, I have an income, fixed expenditure (stuff that doesn't change from month to month) variable expenditure (extra cc payments, hair cuts etc) and debt payments. These all total up to a very large blue 'what's left' figure, If I could make it flash I would!
I also have a sheet dedicated to the debts, showing original figures, current figures, original minimum payments and the current minimum payments. This gives me the extra I can pay off each month.
I'd like to use MS money, but as I run a mac, it's not compatible
Please come back often and share stories and experiences, I am lucky enough to have some of the loveliest friends on here.

daily update
This is going to be a waffle. I'm trying to organise a lot of random, confused thoughts. Here goes...
Firstly, a confession. I didn't cancel the lottery subscription, some deep seated what if thought made me forget! Will do it.
Have been told there are no salary reviews this year, not surprising really, but disappointing. Will be slower to get out of debt as other bills will no doubt rise. Council tax comes to mind.
Also have been called to a meeting later this afternoon to discuss what percentage of work my team does that is essential to the business and what is cosmetic - ie can we close you down....Not sure if anyone will survive this, I can, maybe, save one job, should it be mine? Feel like a very horrid person even considering this. Don't want to go to the meeting, I'm so fed up with fighting all the time, that's what work has become.
I know in my heart I have to tell exex to go away. Despite all the conversations about communication, it's not happening. I last heard from him Friday evening when he sent me a text saying he was stuck in a bar. Presumably, he's still there.... this just doesn't work for me. I want a partner who talks to me, tells me about their day, and so on.... Am I very selfish? Possibly...
I will be back with random silliness and light hearted banter, because that is my nature and most the time I love life. But at the moment, I have people's jobs on my concience, know that I have to say goodbye to the man I love, because he's not the man I want him to be.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Oh shoot! Best of luck sweetie (can you drop in the conversation the bit about savig your bosses !!!!! the other week?)

No you are not selfish, OH and I don't talk much but we do talk and we go through stuff - that is the bare minimum I think!

Oh Dragon, you are such a sanity saver!!
I know the answer to all these things, don't we always? Just don't like the answers much!
I can't drop the boss in it, he's hosting the meeting! He's sent a mail saying it's all too much for him to handle and needs our help. This translates to make yourselves redundant, so I don't have to! He has been in a flat spin for weeks now, panicking about the credit crunch and losing his job. What he cannot see, is that if he doesn't have the basis of a good team behind him, he will not be that far behind us in the dole queue. We're the ones that do the job that he takes credit for...
Think I'll have to put exex off until tomorrow, I don't want any conversations today that will make me weaker. I need to put him to the back of mind until later!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

It helps to have someone else reiterate sometimes!

Poot! He sounds like a real wuss, the old Peter Principle (you get promoted to the stage above your coping area) - is it just going to be your team there? Maybe you could mention something about the fact that if you hadn't all pulled together that last time (and stress the ALL) then the company could have folded and he and the rest would be out of a job?

I just love the word snerk....I must use it somewhere....
Don't know how to deal with the boss, the problem with weak and afraid people is that they can turn very nasty if cornered! He'll say I'm only doing my job by protecting the company....I can hear him now. It's not just my team it's all the teams that make up the greater team, five of us altogether. We'll all have to sacrifice something to save him. The complete injustice of it makes me spit with rage. As I've told you before, I'm a bit of a feisty number and really need to think before I open my mouth, really don't want to make it easy for him.

My sister only takes her foot out of her mouth to put the other one in! Think really carefully (I'm sure you will) before you say anything. Hope all goes well.
