You know we love you Martin - you've changed my life, I'm thousands better off and then there's the forums. There are two I love - the House Price (now newly named) and Old Style. I hate to see either messed with! It is a rare day I don't spend time on both. It does mean I will fight if I think they come under threat!

The temptation now to say 'but' and have a whinge about XXX is great - but for the greater good I'm going to supress it!

Let the festivities commence.....:xmassign: :xmastree: :rudolf:

I'll have you know the stress of all this has made me eat a 100g bag of tortilla chips (value of course. :D )

    I know we are chums,

Too much hot sun on head. Missing French wine too so possibly over compensating with the Aussie stuff.
    you wombat.

I think it's wombats where the males grow poison spurs on their hind legs in the mating season to see off the competition mid thrust. The younger Generalissimo is 2 now so it might be time for another soon. Don't walk behind me!
I sometimes wish Pastures would log on as me and fix my posts as I go along..:o :D

Do the research into the potential for becoming a French wine importer.

Something you can't buy in Aus is Original Source shower gels, in particular the minty one, so if you need a 2nd business idea, there you go.

    Importer of 2 bubblies.

What I've noticed about London is - you can literally do anything in London. That wouldn't work anywhwere else. It's brilliant and something I'd have done years ago, except I don't live in London. Seriously, it's only Londoners that do/buy/have half the sh1te that could be done in theory.

Martin's made the right decision over the long term for hard-working families.

What's his decision got to do with "hard-working families"?

I notice the Divadee support - or let's be very rude about HP posters - thread is still going strong!

    Looks a bit one sided!

By the way - has Divadee gone from the HP board?

Hopefully we can all go back to being rude to each other.

I don't think there's any 'Hopefully' about it - all it means now is that you can be rude AND on-topic :p

Language is about communication not point scoring as anyone who's tried seriously to use a second language will tell you!

Just as a point... English IS my second language... infact you could argue it's my third as I learnt another before I learnt English :) Yet most of the time I think my spelling and composition is acceptable (and certainly more understandable and pleasing to the eye than people who so irritatingly insist on spelling was: woz, I: ay, isn't it: innit, Later: l8r and so forth...
No actual POINT to that just thought I'd point out that there are some of us on here for whom English isn't our mother tongue :)

However back to the point of the thread: Martin took onboard the suggestions made that it was felt were valid suggestions and he has explained why he did so. It's not about "saving face" or "loosing face" - it's about wanting the boards to run smoothly in the long run. I think he's made clear his views on the manner and tone comments were made in and highlighted the CORRECT complaints procedure should anyone want to complain in future. Surely that should be enough?
A common misconception is that this is a democracy but in fact it is not... this is a privately owned, funded and run board. That means ultimately ONE person has the responcibility and accountability for anything on here and rightly that means HE has the final say in how it's run.
Do BGs take it personal if Martin change the title of a board? No why should we? We have enough trust in him that we know he's doing it for the good of the board and not to "save face". I just wish everyone else would show a little more of that trust in him too :)

And remember: be nice to everyone - it's nearly Yule and it IS an MSE rule ;)

    Merry Yule to all...

    It is a joke.

Its a p-take of labour policies being designed, they tell us, to help hard working FAMILIES, not just hard working people, or the people of the country or any othr term.

It's an in joke with an increasing number of people on many websites/boards. The Gumment are always banging on about hard-working families.... which annoys us hard-working singles.
