    Afternoon all,

Well I have tidied through, and hoovered, made OH some spinach soup, which is delish, even though I say so myself ;) , and made some cookies and prepped the dinner for tonight. I have also done an online shop with mysupermarket.com and saved myself just over £15 :money: .

It is soooo cold here, I had all he windows open to let some fresh air in, but have closed them now, and I am afraid the heating has gone on, I dont usually put it on in the day as I am here on my own, but its just too cold, Esor, I think I may have a hot bath too, it really helps to warm you up.

Catz, Thinking of your dear friend, as well as lesley, tristian and Little one, such tough times x

    Welcome to Knitter :T .

Well think I will have a hot bath, then settle down to do my cards, see you later x

ooh my poor feet :o catching a quick sit down before round two!!
    Lesley recipe as follows
Mini Bacon and leek suet puds
    8 oz flour
    1/2 tspn baking powder
    4 oz suet
    1/2 tspn mustard powder
    Salt and pepper

    filling
    2 huge leeks
    2 large carrots
1/2 lb (ish) of cooking bacon *we love smoked in this*

Make up suet pastry by rubbing in suet to flour, bpowder and mustard powder.Add enough water to just bind.
Chop leeks, bacon and carrots to smallish pieces and fry off til just starting to colour.
Line 4-6 small pudding basins (I use Delias sticky toffee pud tins or my mini mason cash bowls)
    Add mixture
    Pop lids on
I usually now steam for 40 mins then freeze then get them out the night before to defrost and steam for another 40 mins :D
Serve with lashings of mashed potatoes

Right off to do cakes now :rotfl:

had a call this morning to say lesley's condition has worsened so I have been to see her again, all her family are there now including her son who the army have flown home from Afghanistan, I am so glad he made it back in time. She knew I was there but couldn't respond. Things are looking very bleak at the moment. They were all being very brave. I decided to come home and leave it to just family so am waiting for the phone to ring.

I know so many of you have been praying for her so thankyou from the family, friends and myself.
    Do what you love :happyhear

Esor I feel for you. I hate being cold around the house. Hope Wednesday comes round as soon as possible.

Taplady thinking of you. That was one regret when my mum died in July that I couldn't be with her at her last moments so it must be some comfort to Lesley's family that they are all with her at this sad time

  • Taplady - thinking and praying for your friend.

Well, breadmaker has been on and my first attempt at a soft crust loaf has passed the taste test of little bear. And me, I very much enjoyed my sample.

Um. Not much else to report, but the spirit is willing and a lot of stuff will be done tonight after dear heart gets home.

    Hugs to all.

Edited to add - and made a banana loaf for dear heart's boss (bit burned, oops, got the dragon too hot) and two weetabix cakes.
