Hypno, I love the squares thing, thats my main focus on the money I get from all my dfw antics.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hope you have a good New Year Hypno and all.
Bob.xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
We have reached a compromise on the "going out on New Year's Eve" thing - the children want to go to a party we have been invited to, but I'm not bothered really, so we have agreed that we will pop down there until about 10 before heading home. I have my run tomorrow so whilst I fully believe I will see the new year in, I can then go straight to bed.....and can be snuggled up on the sofa in between times.....:o
I have £10 in my purse, so that is the extent of our spend budget for this evening......so it shouldn't be too expensive.
That's the idea, anyway!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

RANT NEEDED... Apologies.
£35 per head for a bloody meal and my best friend - who knows my debt issues - is giving me such a guilt trip that i dare not not go, and then we have alcohol on top!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!! I am NOT happy. asked if i could go join them all after they have eaten. no apparently!!!! don't even want to bloody go out in the first place would rather stay in with a good book and save the money and forget its new years eve. i have a real complex about it i hate it. call me scrooge but unless i'm getting silver service beluga caviar £35 is ridiculous but i feel sooo guilty that i have to go. want to cry. its really unfair.debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
Rant away, P......thankfully the party I am going to is a "bring your own food" thing so we can keep the cost down, much more sensible. But I would rather stay here and not do anything. In a few years, DS can take himself off to parties and stagger home when he is ready.....
Pay the money, enjoy the meal, and then check all the mystery shopping sites over the next few days to recoup the money and make it money-neutral.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. thanks hon, wise words, think its just the case of being pressured into it and not a case of " i really want to but i can't afford it." i can't afford it but i don't blimmin want to either!!!!!

I loathe NYE and my friends know better than to try and guilt trip me out.
Plot a best friend retraining plan for the new year and enjoy the night anyway. You'll get better value for money if you aren't seething
