Thanks jenchin - hope 2009 is good for you too.

Well, I am dressed in my running kit, and almost at the bottom of my latest cup of coffee, so it is about time I cleaned my teeth, tied my hair back and got my trainers on.......

    Catch you all later!

  • Wishing all on this thread a peaceful 2009.

As I sit here eating an unhealthy breakfast, Hyono will be running six miles - to offset my twinge of guilt I thought I'd mention there are free tickets to the Norwich Vue cinema to see 'Frost Nixon' (www.frostnixon.net). I've sent you a PM with the details as I'm not sure how much information you can put on these pages. It's a 15 certificate so not one for the ski children, but maybe for you and your hubby or to get rid of the student for a night!

Thanks to all on this thread for all the support over 2008. Special thanks to Hypno who's thread has got me started on scratchcards and cashback sites. With all the extra vouchers, cashbacks etc, I managed to live on £8,000 last year (covering all rent, bills, holidays, clothes, food - everything!)

I do hope that all can keep balances between debt-busting and family relationships. As news of Stuart's death now appears in the papers (he was stabbed two nights ago) I hope that you'll take a bit of time out to keep those close to you even closer. Sorry to bring the tone down, but I really think it's easy to lose sight of what is most important.

    Good luck with 2009s plans.

  • Afternoon Hypno,

Sounds like you have some very reasonable targets set for January and it's good news with the snowballer, providing of course nothing untowards happen.

Hope you enjoyed your run, if you've been for it yet?

Hiphouse, thanks for the pm - sadly the Norwich one is now full. I haven't seen the news in the papers re Stuart, but it sounds horrific and does indeed bring things home.

My run is done - I am now cold and tired and in need of a hot bath, but I am very glad I did it as I went the fastest by a long way that I have been so far!

Well done on the run Hypno, makes me feel positively lazy, only got dressed an hour ago :rotfl: & haven't even ventured outside yet

Just listened / watched the New Years Day concert from Vienna on BBC, not my normal sort of thing but found it quite relaxing.

Going to have a little tidy up & a mooch about on here until Doctor Who comes on at 2.50pm, missed it on Christmas Day, as spent the day with a friend & "it's not really my sort of thing" she said.

Enjoy the rest of your day

Happy New Year to you too! taka, definitely get used to the pedometer again - walking is a really good way of getting fit, and on the dfw running thread, it is advocated as an absolute must as a way of getting strength before you start running........so there you go!

It is a rare day today - OH is not working, and so we are going to take the children ice skating - well, they will ice skate and OH and I will drink hot chocolate nearby! Then we might have an even rarer thing........something to eat all together!!!!!

It might be the only time this year we are able to do this, so might as well do it while we can
