Why have numerous relevant threads been moved to discussion time?

I didn't know this was going on.... now up to 225 postings and I didn't even know it was here.

I night have posted on it earlier, when all this to-do started, but I stay in House Prices so will have lost/forgotten it etc.

Eh, 423,000 users on this forum... so many - nobody has seen them all.

And by the way, last time I looked every member can post anywhere they like.

The board has not been wrecked - this is a thread not a board. And as I said anyone can post so nobody is preventing anyone from expressing their opinion, so please don't be put off...

I've just looked at the board in question, as I must admit I had not actually noticed a sudden influx of threads about House Prices into Discussion Time.

It seems I'd even posted on one of them without realising I was an interloper, when I said that surplus car production sometimes gets parked on disused airfields.

Now I have to suggest we need to thank these erudite people, as without their help very few of is would have had the chance to learn that Gordon Brown making remarks about an outbreak of cholera in Zimbabwe is actually about UK house prices.

And people standing up for their right to say they don't like football ...

And now they're correct - that board is wrecked. Some of them have wrecked it themselves, with a series of now-locked trolling threads that for example call the board guides morons.

Ok, most of us visit this Feedback Board. So we have seen the thread and then seen the objections to DT etc etc.

I cannot speak for others, but for myself I'd like to defend Discussion Time. That is a place where some brilliant discussions take place, amid quite a bit of rubbish, granted.

So please don't be put off posting in DT - it may be unfamiliar territory, as SingleSue says, but it is by no means a 'here be dragons' place. Just do what you do on any board and thread: ignore disruptive posts and follow your own discussion. Those who have nothing constructive to contribute will get bored after a while, and the trolls and !!!!heads can be dealt with as usual.

I do post very occasionally on DT and MSA ... and then usually run like hell .... they are some VERY scarey women on those. Very ferocious and scarey. I am ASD and felt very comfortable in the HP board. It's a much more factual/logical/backed by evidences and links type of place, which sits well with my difference.

If it's all going to be broken up and distributed to the scarey women section then I'll have to leave because .... there be dragons!

I don't want to go, I hate people who flounce off. But this isn't flouncing, this is sadly feeling made homeless. I feel evicted, homeless, forlorn, bereft. I've already felt too out of sorts today to say/do much, either here or in my real life. It's all unsettling.
