so a thread about a car park full of new cars unsold is about house prices is it?

A thread about the honda team being up for sale is about house prices is it?

A thread about jeremy clarkson talking about car prices is about house prices is it?

A thread about recession in Germany is about house prices is it?

NO they are not, yes they are about the wider economy but they are not about HOUSE PRICES. Until the mse team change the guidelines and/or the name of this board to house prices and recession and the worlds wider economy I have to follow the guidelines.

eh?? The above is about the economy!!!!!!! The economy is linked to house prices - this country's well being depends on house prices. What was being disscused has an impact on house prices in the UK and the rest of the world.

If you actually took the time to watch the Clarkson footage you would have noticed that he also mentions stuff OTHER then cars.

Well done :T

well with your method drbeat nearly 80% of the threads from the pure money section of the forum should be on the house price board. How about some posts from the grab it board, as that effects the economy as well doesnt it? People on mse rushing out to spend money when they see a bargain, oh that will help the economy as well.

well i have reffered this thread to abuse, and i recommend that everyone that has a problem with it do the same.

the email address is

abuse@moneysavingexpert.com

You are amissing the point here the guidelines are for discussions about house prices, when/if mse change the guidelines the posts will be moved back if the abuse and mse team agree. I dont know why you cant carry on your discussions in the discussion board.

I will no longer reply to any messages on here, I have given the board guides stance on this. Board Guides just follow guidelines nothing else.

Just put them back, please.

You are here to serve us, not to rule us. A poll has gone up [prematurely I think], but it is plain, people want things where they were. You are not helping, you have made a mistake. None of these threads were single post orphans which needed moving to get help for someone. None of these threads caused any controversy about whether or not we should have the discussion on this board. So there was absolutely no need to move them.

Now, take a look at the poll, which I confidently predict will show that they should be moved back. Don't fly in the face of the poll, because that will raise bigger questions.

diva, I know you have a very hard job on here and maybe because it has been described as "the board the mods forgot" we have got a little used to freedom.
But I think a little bit of leeway would be a good thing.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

Don't be so silly. There is no abuse here, just people understandably upset at your meddling. You are here to serve, not to rule. If you are not careful, you may find a poll going up, questioning your position.

I thought we'd been put in the 'naughty corner' and left to our own devices, which suited me fine. There is no indication that the board has been unpopular; rather the reverse, in fact.

I said i wouldnt reply but to break that to answer incisor i will.

I put the abuse email address as that is who to go to if you have a problem with anyones actions on here (board guides included), I have already emailed abuse myself to show them this thread and to clarify what I have to done and why. If abuse and the mse team want to change the fornat of this board to house prices and the wider economy then bring it on, and the threads will be moved back .

The poll is already up fair enough thats the posters perogative, I have also emailed abuse with the link to it so they can see it.

As for your comment I am here to serve and not rule, that is what i am doing the mse team, give us guidelines and that is what i am following, when they change the guidelines I will change the way threads are moved on this thread.

This one is totally appropriate, but now in discussion time?

Agreed. Here is the the content of this thread. Rents are one of the fundamentals of house prices.

Landlords demand relief on buy-to-let mortgages

Struggling tenants could be turfed out if scheme is not extended

Sunday, 7 December 2008

The Homeowner Mortgage Support Scheme should be extended to cover those who are behind on buy-to-let repayments, say groups representing landlords.

The government scheme, announced last week, is designed to underwrite, for up to two years, the mortgage payments of homeowners who have lost their jobs or suffered a sudden drop in income. The scheme was initially welcomed by commentators but is short on detail and reports have surfaced that only a fraction of the estimated 75,000 people who will face repossession next year will be helped.

Simon Gordon, head of communications at the National Landlords Association:mad:, says those who are in arrears with their buy-to-let mortgages should be covered by the scheme. "Seventy-one per cent of landlords expect rental arrears to be a major issue during 2009," he said.

Mr Gordon justified the extension of the scheme on the grounds that it would prevent hard-pressed tenants being turfed out on to the street.

"If the endgame is to prevent people losing their homes, then it makes no sense for buy-to-let mortgages to be exempt from these new measures. By giving landlords breathing space, they would have a chance to offer any struggling tenants a similar period to get their finances in order and prevent the homes being repossessed," he said.

:eek:71% of landlords expect rental arrears to be a major issue during 2009

That is truely shocking and far bigger than what my pesimistic self thought. Either the spokesman is over playing the issue to get asistance or buy to let is in a far worse state than we thought.

However and this is a big HOWEVER. Why should the tax payer bail out these investors when the governments actions are crippling other investors. Cash savers are having their funds crippled, shareholders have lost over a third of their value, short traders are being bankrupted because they had the nerve to highlight all the bad businesses.

No if you invest in property you should take the good with the bad. They were happy when prices were shootting up and pricing first time buyers out of the market. Now they want to keep their profits in the good years and tax payers to bail them out in the bad. What makes it worse is all the irresponsible practices they had, no money down, gift deposits, gearing, inerest only mortgages, massive fraud.

I say to the National Landlords Association as a tax payer, no to a bail out and go run off a cliff. I want my taxpayers money funding instead unemployment training, investment in green technology, supporting small businesses to generate jobs as well as all the hospital and school stuff. Not to The Wilsons :mad: so they can buy another race hourse.
