i mean to be honest i asked a quite bizzare question at first, regarding waiting for windows 7 when I dont even know the main differences between vista and 7....?0
-
I'd wait for 7 personally .. even the pre-beta's are running very well .. I'm using one right now.
There's plenty of info on the web about differences brtween Vista and 7 .. here's as good a site as any out there with information .. http://www.winsupersite.com/ ..0 -
Basically guys I want your opinion, Windows 7 is out soon next year right? Well do I buy vista now or wait for 7. Ive read that windows 7 is what vista shouldve been, so what you think?
There were many who waited to invest their money in the belief that Vista would be what Windows XP should have been...

Take Bill Gates advice and bypass Vista and wait for Windows 7 - which just might be released next June! However as with all Microsoft products, the first release will probably be crap. It took the second editions of W95, W98 and XP before these OS's were stable. Win NT / 2000 was probably the most stable OS Microsoft ever released, although it didn't support a lot of multimedia devices at the time.
Remember that an Operating System is only like petrol in a car, it only helps the PC to run and it is the actual software programs you run on top of Windows that actually count! Even with XP, you have to spend hours stripping out all the Microsoft crap before you get a decent running system.0 -
To be fair energy, I'm using Vista and in my opinion, now it's all patched up, it's a very decent operating system as long as you have a decent spec to back it up...
But it is getting a bit late in the day to go and buy it when Windows 7 isn't far away...[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Personally I found it to be a decent OS from the day it was launched except for the fact it uses a lot of resources.
Personally I wouldn't wait for Windows 7 as it is slated for releasse in the second half of 2009 so it's atleast 8-9 months away and if it slips could be 12 or months away. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
what, im well confused lol
some saying buy vista now
some saying wait for windows 70 -
I've herd Windows 7 is meant to be less resource hungry than vista. Windows Vista is fine on computers that come pre installed with it, I wouldn't advise upgrading to windows vista from XP on the same machine though.0

Depends on the spec of the machine in question, it could be in excess of the minimum requirements..
OP, if you're at university then there's a very good chance that through an academic subscription that you will be able to get Windows 7 for free at some point of your course.

The problem is that it may well be severely slated when it's (eventually) released.
