Angel i'm sorry you are right and i'm wrong, I apologise. I hope you find loving homes for your kittens.
Kimberley, let's not get silly. I am not asking or telling you what to do.

I am not even aiming for an apology here....We just differ on our opinions here. You are very passionate about your cause.

What we both have in common is a good, loving home for our cats and I am just enjoying and learning about mine everyday and it's an absolute joy to have her around! A tad embarrasing when her bums in the air, butnevertheless a godsend and a wonderful addition to our home

And by the way what's wrong with my home...it's big and ugly enough lol

    Fair enough Angel A
  • Well, I am glad you both love your cats!

I would always say neuter rather than breed, both for the cats health and welfare, and as I said before, so as not to add to the problem of unwanted and dumped cats. (also for the convenience of not having to keep you kitty under lock and key every time she is in season)

But -in the current financial climate it seems particularly ill advised to be creating more animals to add to the already overwhelming problem, and can be a costly business for the owner if anything goes wrong in pregnancy.

The celia hammond link posted by Kimberley is very useful actually,

She is indeed in heat but please do not breed from her. Take her to the vet as soon as she is herself again to book her in for a spay. If cost is an issue then i'm sure the CPL or RSPCA will help to ensure she doesn't come into heat again. It only lasts a few weeks from the beginning to the end of the cycle. Please never ever let her out until she is spayed. I keep on about this. Why on earth do people still do this?

Didn`t I just read on another thread that you are about to buy a Bengal? I totally agree that cats should be spayed but also that people should stop filling breeders pockets when there are so many cats already in rescue. You can`t have it both ways

Sorry seemed to have missed all the times you have mentioned that, For what reason? I know you foster dogs and already have a cat why on earth would you not be allowed to adopt a cat?

I have asked the CPL and the RSPCA and also my local rescue. As soon as I tell them my address they say no because I live on a main road and have a car park at the rear and yes they are right in worrying but I intend to keep cats indoors and even then they said no which is reasonable.
  • several people on here who have to keep their cats indoors have been sucessful in getting a cat from a rescue, especially those which have always been housecats, or are timed, or have FIV etc.
