Oh goodness, no........none taken at all!:D
Neither was I offended by your comments!
And you are, of course, correct in saying that not everyone's is.....but I think that may be due to ignorance more than laziness or a neglectful attitude. Cat feeding, as proven here, is such a minefield!0 -
If you want to go there kimberly, I suggest you think long and hard there...IF EVERYONE never had a litter, dn't you think that there would be consequences a little later on in life!
There would be no more KITTENS being born....now would there!
Nature.....Pro-create spring to mind
There will ALWAYS be irresponsible owners who let their cats get pregnant.
I personally think ANY moggie owner who lets them get pregnant (even once) is irresponsible. Moggies are usually free/cheap & certain people will put no value on what was free/cheap, hence so many poor cats wandering the streets or in cages in shelters.
I disagree with the people who think it is wrong to buy a pedigree cat, I love the characteristics Persians have bred in them. I am happy to buy them, happy to treat them well & do all the extra grooming required.
Yes, its lovely to give a homeless cat a home, but its not for me. I would RATHER buy a Persian/exotic.
A pedigree needs a loving home just as much as a moggie0 -
Help, how do I do this?
We got a kitten 2 weeks ago, his jabs are up to date and I think he knows where his food comes from now so we decided it was time we let him outside. I waited until just before his usual feeding time and let him out into the garden, thinking he'd stick close to me anyway as he was wanting to be fed. But the garden was too enticing and he was exploring, so I quickly filled up his food bowl - he sniffed it and ran outside again! I panicked when he got right to the end of the garden without showing any signs of wanting to come back and scooped him up to bring him back in.
What do you think, am I being silly?? I am paranoid he won't come back! We haven't got a cat flap so I will have to leave a window open (cold!) or hope his tiny kitten meow is loud enough to hear through double glazing... help!
Oh dear, what will I be like when DS is a teenager?? :rotfl:I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0 -
Stay out in the garden with your kitten, just the first few times and play with a toy outside with him, give him treats in the garden etc. Sounds like he just wants to explore tbh, but if you make the garden fun, he may stay closer to home.
We had a cat that used to go outside and we did that, most of the time she'd stay in the street within a few doors away and she befriended the cat 2 doors down - honestly 2 little minxes if ever there was! They were partners in crime
The did used to go hunting in the nearby fields together though and in each others houses, just like teenagers lol
Unfortunately her and half of the other cats in the area just happened to go missing one night, the week the new chinese take away opened....If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0 -
If he's not chipped & neutered you need to be with him anyway, really until he's about 6 months as he's too small to fight off any other Cats etc. We used to take ours out on a lead but now I just let them get on with it & stay in their site, they soon learn0

I recommend "The Unadulterated Cat" by Terry Pratchett...heh..
MIL has 2/3 Siamese..and yes, they're lovely..but not my thing. They seem like a deckchair..all joints and clumsy.
Compared to Hex (Moggy, farm bred, looks like a bruiser, is a big softy), and Fudge (Moggy, Siamese build, legginess and frame), they're very clumsy. I prefer moggies..I like the variation..:)0 -
My kitty was spayed yesterday, she's absolutely fine. I was sent home with a buster collar for her, it stayed on all of 10 minutes
So, I've left her without the collar.. She's not tried to pull the stitches out as yet although she has given the wound a clean. Fingers crossed she won't get them out because I don't fancy taking her back with a de-hissed wound to be re-sutured!
I've had experience of at least 4 cats having being spayed and none of them were given collars, nor did they have any problems. What are the chances of her deciding she's going to rip them out?0 -
My cat is too dumb to figure out how to get the buster collar off, she got it off a few times accidenatly by trying to rub her chin off a door and it shunting it off.
I thought she'd be okay as she didn't seem concerned by it whilst wearing the collar, as soon as it was off she was biting and chewing them, urgh, makes me cringe remembering it! Her stitches stayed in but she had a big swollen lump around the area, for a week or so after the stitches came out.
I think in a few days it will start to get itchy, so then is most likely.0 -
If it's any help, my kitty is around 24 weeks. She was spayed and chipped yesterday, I'll be letting her out in about 10 days once her stitches are out and she's healed. It's irresponsible to let a cat out on their own before they're 6 months, spayed/neutered, up to date with jabs and chipped.0

No, there's been no biting and chewing, just licking.
I am concerned that when the itching starts, that might be when she starts to have a go at it, but in theory once it's been sutured 5 days it should have knitted sufficiently. Fingers crossed...0
