I did have a Silver Bengal but she went missing in November so I've decided to get another. The thing is Petplan are taking ages to close the claim for her loss and therefore the breeder is holding the kitten until it's paid out. This new Bengal is a Seal Lynx Snow.

They are indeed a breed like no other.

I think persians rock, but we will have to agree to differ on that:p

They are not the brains of the cat world, but they are big soft cuddly teddy-bears who adore being around their family much more than going out (admittedly they can be a little lazy:o ).

Ok background - She is an indoor cat as I live in a flat, never been outside. She's always been clingy, following me everywhere etc, but since getting fixed, she's been untolerable! I can't even go for a wee, without her crying outside the bathroom door! I understand she obviously loves her mammy, but it really is getting out of hand, she's constantly under foot etc.

Is getting another cat a good option? So she has someone to play with? She's only just over 1year old, so I was thinking about one around the same age as her, and maybe a Tom, as I hear they are more tolerable?

Would 2 cats smell more? I scoop the poopys everyday, the money isn't a problem, Im just concerned about lack of space? It's a 2bed flat, so I guess thats plenty of room?

    Any advice welcome :j

It might work - really depends on your cat though. I got a second one when mine was a year old, and it was a really bad move as she hated her and would hiss at her whenever she came near. That was 10 years ago and she still barely tolerates her.

Maybe a tom wouldn't be as bad.

My cat is clingy too - she comes into the bathroom with us! I don;t see it as a problem, just a cute facet of her personality. I don;t think anotehr cat would help - it's obviously your company she wants. Can you try to like it and see it as the affection that it is?

It WAS nice before she got done now it's constant, If I don't let her in the bathroom she starts ripping up the carpet outside the doors! You should see the state of my lobby carpet now.

    Sometimes I need alone time!

I've got three cats of varying ages and they seem to be more clingy at this time of the year - where once an empty armchair would suffice as a bed in the evening, now it has to be my lap, particularly if I'm reading the paper.
Don't worry too much. One of ours is constantly wailing at me - if only I understood what she was saying - but we quick chat and a stroke and she goes on her way.

It's just no matter how much I fuss over her, let her sleep under the duvet with me, give her nice food, always stroking her.....it's not enough. I just thought maybe another cat would keep her company? Maybe not.

I have two cats, a boy n a girl i rescued, they are just over two now, they followed me all the time round the house, the little girl stopped doing it so much now, but the boy, from day one, i have accidently trodden on him, squished him in a door( not hard, but he did a big cry, i have always only half shut doors, check n then shut, lol) anyway, he goes up to the bathroom with me n everything, i love it, so cute,
also, earlier this year a feral that decided to join the family follows me everywhere too, n he rips the carpet up if i forgat him, i bought some lavendar oil and put a tiny bit on the carpet outside the bathroom, this works most of the time, both go out, the feral is even clingy outside, he jumps up into my arms when i call him,
    sorry , no helpful advise,
THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.

LoL, Ok, so I guess it's just her then. Might just buy a big bag of lemons and rub them on the carpets, at least to save from further damage!
  • So yes all is going well in the world of Mike and Phillip :j

Some photographic evidence is needed here ;)

Much as I like pedigree cats (Bengals in particular are absolutely stunning) I really don't get the 'I could never have a moggy/ different breed' that Pedigree owners often come out with.

My two moggies are the most loving, gentle, funny, sweet, athletic, beautiful cats with the most amazing little personalities... I could go on :D They're not all these things because of their breed (or lack of!) but simply because they are cats!
