New kitten....questions & advice (merged)

I remember when our 2 boys were kittens, we used to switch off the tv and sit and watch them play fighting instead, much more interesting.

hehe they are finding their place in the world
my 13 and (new) 14yo siamese cats mostly sleep, but about twice a day they have a play and a chase...it can get a bit relentless at times, but they calm down again (get too tired) and just go back to sleep. i guess a part of them is still clinging to kittenhood
i think your cats (like mine) and also working out who will be boss...my existing cat obviously feels he is top boy, but the 'new' 14yo thinks he is top boy...an equilibrium will eventually be reached.0 -
I did
, Paid £350 for a Havana before xmas, and will be spending another £350 next week when I pick up a Tabby oriental.
Aww any pictures?
I too paid out hundreds for my Bengal £450 and now i'm going to put a deposit down on another Bengal soon
I don't think i'd ever get a moggy again because i've falling in love with Pedigrees.0 -

That is correct but mainly it's so that the kittens leave the mother well socialised and confident. When I got my Bengal at 13 weeks old he was very socialised and very confident. On his first day home it was like he had been with us for months0 -

It often seems to be that when people buy one Bengal they later on buy another, that's exactly what happend to us.
They are quite unike any other cat I've owned, they are ace and such good fun:D
I will try and dig out a picture of our Bengals later on this evening.0 -

I did have a Silver Bengal but she went missing in November so I've decided to get another. The thing is Petplan are taking ages to close the claim for her loss and therefore the breeder is holding the kitten until it's paid out. This new Bengal is a Seal Lynx Snow.
They are indeed a breed like no other.0 -

He is truly georgeous! I just love cats that look as if someone has flicked paint at them or made them up from "spare" kitten parts:o . Phillip is stunner as well - and sometimes neutered males are better at accepting kittens than females are so hopefully he will enjoy the company once he gets used to idea.
Yeah they are getting on quite well. Phillip is being a bit rough when they play but Mike is learning very quickly to fight back. Phillip has been licking Mike and they shared a bowl of scrambled egg last night. (Mike has got a bit of a poorly tummy so we are fed him plain scrambled egg and dry kitten food - that's ok isn't it?)
So yes all is going well in the world of Mike and Phillip :j0 -
My sister has a half-Bengal - he's weird! They like climbing - one I met preferred to sit right on the top of the chimney pot. Give me my plain old tabby moggy any day. Sensible, well behaved and cheap (free actually, not wanted anymore

Never! Its one of the lovely things to watch about cats. When I watch them fighting I can imagine what they are thinking.
They learn as they play fight and they also develop skills. Yes, they will wag tails because sometimes they will get mad when they are losing....but its not a problem.
They should stop play fighting when they are about 18 months old. Fighting after that is different.0 -

Made me laugh! My two do the 'scary' faces and slow circling too before the outrageous paw tap on the head or sometimes try to bite the toes on the back foot of the 'victim'
The Paw on the Head is sooooooo funny. I always wonder what the cats are thinking.......
"Ill ill ill.......Tap you back if you do that again!!" :rotfl:0
