 maybe if you spent less time cleaning kitty litter you would actually think before putting fingers to keyboard - also digesting what you read rather than falsing accusing others of altering your posts.

this site is for helping others - take time out from the cat litter & remember that - or perhaps take up kick boxing to vent your frustrations:rotfl:

Thats quite a childish post. I care for my cats and cleaning litter out each day is caring for their needs. You did alter my posts, do it again and i'll report you.

Cats are clean animals & HATE mess, you wouldn't like to go to the loo in your own c!!!, neither do they. Doesn't matter if the litter *can* go x,y,z without being cleaned, it doesn't make it nice or right to be not cleaned out, maybe it doesn't need a full clean but all the !!! removing it does! Kimberley is totally right. Besides all that, why wouldn't you do it daily?

I agree Tiger :D It's not just that but if the litter is not cleaned out as they go then they will walk on it when they next visit the loo, then walk on you with dirty paws, the furniture, paw your face etc. No sorry, it's just not hygenic :o

I can understand though that this argument is going nowhere and I apologise to Minky so maybe it can get back to topic.
  • I think there's a difference between scooping out any mess (if you use clumping litter) and changing the entire tray. I use clumping litter and scoop at least twice daily rather than changing the entire tray twice daily. I wouldn't want my cats having to tread on their own poo to do another one!

No I don't mean changing the entire litter each day as it would be very expensive, I mean scooping the tray clean each day.

my cat's poos are pretty inoffensive - firm and easy to clean. i would however never just leave them in the tray for a day or two, and i always scoop out their tray morning and night so that they don't have to ballet-dance around their own mess in order to take a wee or another poo. the tray gets a full change every 2 - 3 days without fail. the few occasions where i neglected to change their tray on time they showed their displeasure by crapping on their bed and peeing on a sofa cushion!!!

also, as i don't have a covered tray, it is also more aesthetically pleasing to clear out any mess that appears!

You all should do what suits you - I do what suits me - I do not assume my way is the best way & neither should anyone else. If I read that it was necessary to clean a litterbox several times a day I wouldn't have bothered to get cats - as my two aged 9 & 8 yrs respectively have happy lives without this `essential service' it is WRONG to say this to someone enquiring about pets needs. One thing no-one mentioned is what you feed yr cats: wet food produces more waste than dry - I feed mine dry.

I say again - no1 else will clean the litterboxes as often so unless you never plan to leave your pets until they die - it is selfish to keep them in this fashion. Catteries or petsitters will not do this.

I hope it is clear enough for you this 100th time around. If it wasn't for the sake innocent people trying to get ACCURATE information from this site I wouldn't bother to explain myself to bigots btw.
