No they can't, but even if they can, I can't imagine not cleaning it out everyday. It doesn't take long, just a few minutes of your time thats all. The only time I'd have to leave it until the next day is if I were away for the night or weekend but then i'd have to put another tray down to help.
which is fair enough toowe are all different too - i'm completely carp at housework, and it doesn't bother me, but i have friends who are totally ott houseproud - but thats ok coz we both just accept that i'm a lazy mare and they have ocd (joke) and then laugh about it
edit to add- Kimberly - not implying that you are ott or ocd about litter trays lol - just trying to make an example of how peeps are different when it it comes to things like thisI can't think of anything interesting to write here.........0 -

all still mad dictators the lot of you
i have never been called a mad dictator just because i stated (not dictated) that I scoop my cats poos out of their tray daily. that's quite funny...

i really like the idea of that cat litter you can flush down the loo:cool:0

I don't know if there is cat litter you can flush down the loo but I do know that there is a way to train your cats to use the toilet.
I think one lady even invented a special litter tray that sits on the loo, the cat gets used to going in this and I think I vaguely remember the size of the litter tray being gradually reduced til the cat was going in the loo.
I would love to have this system but quite aside from the fact its expensive I am not sure my DD could cope with having to lift a litter tray off the loo every time she wanted to use it! And sometimes when I go to the loo in the night I am still mostly asleep and I would dread to think what would happen if I forgot to move it! :eek:0 -

There is Lady A. Cats best is one
As for training cats to use your own loo, well that takes some hard work and patience. The thing with that is you would have to keep the toilet door open all the time because the cat can't flush the chain and then you could be welcomed home with quite a lot of mess and not just inside the toilet :eek:0 -
Could anybody help please? We have had a kitten for about six weeks now. For the first 4 weeks he was fine - used litter tray and cleaned himself. In the last week or so he still uses the tray (mostly!) but really pongs. What can I do?
Thanks for any suggestions.0 -
You could maybe sprinkle a bit of water over him (in a non mean way
) and that would maybe prompt him to clean himself and get him dry?

Hi Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a try (carefully! won't be mean;) ). On another forum it suggested using a wet wipe but I'm not sure what chemicals are in them so don't really want to do that. Also putting butter on him to encourage him to lick it off. Any thoughts on that?0

Is she sneezing at all? Runny eyes? Congested nose? It's possible she has a cold/flu.
What you might like to try is using a rough washcloth dipped in warm water to clean her hindquarters in short strokes. This imitates the way a mother cat washes a kitten and should help her get back into the habit.0
