Why are so many people complaining there were no decent discounts???
There is a thread somewhere around here discussing Woolworths selling everything off at £1, so some people have very demanding expectations of a Woolworths sale! :rotfl:
Thanks to all who post constructively.

  • I was complaining because on the majority of their toys they are making out like you are getting a fantastic offer with all the signs and stickers when in fact, you will get the same toys from Argos or Asda cheaper, in some cases, alot cheaper. I got a few little bits, but on most things its better to shop around.
    OnePoll - £12.40, Yougov - £1.00, VO - £24.25, youdoo miles - 24292, MHF - £0.00
Not much, but its a start :rotfl:

I popped in to our Woolies today - I think this was a great marketing ploy, as a lot of the shelves were practically bare this morning.
I got a couple of pressies, thanks for the heads up on here about the penguin tea for one set - I also paid £1.60 for one today.

Have to agree with the general feeling that Woolies, even with their sale, is overpriced compared to other shops. Its still very sad that it may close its doors though.

I was really impressed by the sale - picked up the above optics set, 2 DVDs, 4 chunky champagne flutes, a cheese knife set, set of 100 twinkling clear lights, and some cute ittle star tea-ligh holders, all for less than £30! :D
u are a GODDESS!!!!! i went back this morn and found the optics, BUT it was out the box and only 1 left (they had loads yest), so i put it in the box and toddled off to homewares. got the champagne flutes (x2) with the wide stem (lussssssh). didnt find the cheese knife set which is a bummer!

but OMG got to the till and it said £8 for the optics!!!!!!!!!! glad i picket it up. whilst queuin ppl were lookin @ it like 'oooh where u find that'?! HAHA i got the last one!!!!!!

    so means to be 20% off original £15 sale price. but was £20 > £15 > £8

    heheheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :D

Is it going to be worth my while popping in tomorrow? I quite like the sound of these big wine glasses!
  • after reading what 'bargains' everyone has been able to pick up, it just demonstrates just what rubbish woolworths sells - no wonder it's closing.
