  • Don't contact.
    Don't appeal.
Don't acknowledge who the driver is if you identify the car park.
The less you speak to them the quicker they give up.
every time they try to contact you it costs them money on top of the £2.50 for the RK from DVLA.After a while they see they are getting nowhere and its not economic to continue. They work on percentages, the longer they have to keep chasing you the less profit they make.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

    Hi
I received a private parking "fine" the other day and want to know what to do about it. All of the advice I read is about unfair tickets or tickets that were given out wrongly. My story is a little different.
At the end of last year I parked in a previously free car park on a Sunday morning for 17 minutes. This was on the day of the terrible snow so the car park was deserted save for myself and one other car. I assumed that being a Sunday, parking was free. However I have since learnt that it costs 50p for the whole day. Because of the weather and the time I presumed that there was no way a warden would be working when the car park was so empty so I didn't bother to check if parking was free. Unfortunately I have been done by one of those CCTV "Ghost" tickets.
So what should I do? If this was a Public Fine I wouldn't have a leg to stand on legally as there are signs saying what it costs to park there. However I do think that it is grossly unfair to charge someone £60 to park in an empty car park for 17 minutes.
One more thing, the car is registered in my wife's name so the penalty is issued to her yet I was driving. Should I go down the route of getting my wife to state she wasn't driving and is not obliged to reveal who was?

    Thank you for your time.

As long as it was an invoice (not fine) from a PPC then you can happily ignore it.

Do not enter into any correspondence whatsoever.

They are all invoices, PPCs have no legal authority to issue fines. Isn't that the point.

Indeed. I was trying to ensure that if it was an invoice from a PPC then it could be ignored.

However if it was not, but a proper PCN in a council run car park, then it would be a different matter

If you look at the very first line of my post it says 'Private parking Tickets'. In addition the OP makes it 100% clear it was a private parking 'fine' and not an enforceable council/police one. Again it seems to be there in the very first line of their post [quote: I received a private parking "fine"].

Are you in such a rush to have a pop that you can't be ar5ed to actually read the posts???

So bearing the above in mind, do you want to say which bit of my posting is wrong???

If you can show me, then I'll only too happily apologise to you; just as I know you'll be only too gracious in apologising to me [even though it will choke you].

I look forward to your reply.

If one were being picky, heaven forfend, then it could reasonably be pointed out that the line "You’re worried : it doesn’t matter, we don’t care, ignore it all and don’t pay." is factually incorrect. You may not care but I do, hence my willingness to post on here trying to offer advice. Even if I am the only person to care that someone is worried about a potential charge from the PPC scum, your use of the word "we" is rendered erroneous.

However just because I have pointed out your inaccuracy there is no need to apologise to me.

Have you ever stopped to think why you accuse so many people of wanting to have a pop at you?

    Er....no.

Now that I've answered your question/barb, maybe you'd have the good grace to answer mine?

So, exactly which bit of my posting is wrong??

I know I already asked that in my last post, but you seem to have missed it [tip: read it slowly and allow the brain time to process it before jumping in].

Gee ckerrd, you think that peter such a muppet that you have to jump in to defend him??

Still, nice of you to join in.

I have to say that use of the royal 'we' hardly fulfils peter's accusation that "...a lot of it is wrong". [In fact I would go so far as venture that he meant I was factually incorrect; hence his reference to hospital and supermarket car parks being council controlled].

I know you're only being mischievious, and for that I thank you.

But.....Do you really care? I think it's more that you like to be able to say that you care as it salves your conscience and fills that human desire to be liked.

The thing is that deep down [deep, deep down - not just on a superficial 'nice' level], you DON'T care.

If it took more than a few electrons to show you cared, would you do it?? What if it was going to cost you £1000 - would you care then??
    See, you don't really care.

Admit it....you don't really care....just like everyone else.

Now there is no point in compounding your error by posting more stuff that is not factually correct.

You cannot speak for anyone else on here so please don't try.

Ckerrd, you can't win with this pr1ck, he's an antagonist, a provocateur, a social misfit and inadequate, you'll get no response, no logic, no rationale from him.

His only identity is this online one where he can be all the things online he isn't in real life.

Best to add him to your ignore list, click his username to enter his profile, look at 'recent posts by this misfit' and see the nature of the beast, sad really, quite sad, but you'll see the fruitlessness of trying to illicit a sensible response or any type of self justification to his nonsense - take it from me, he's sitting there with a hard on as we speak at the thought of all the attention this forum brings him in his grimy, miserable existence.

Wait for the textbook response, then silence for 20 minutes when he'll come back and edit his post to appear even smarter - textbook kn0b, don't waste your time.

    Peter has been in touch.

He's at the doctors...apparently he has got a massive apology stuck right at the back of his throat and he can't get it out.

They are prescribing humble pie of all things to help make it a bit easier.

Dear oh dear oh dear, can't help yourself again, always gotta have the last word, but with the inevitability of the all too familiar retrospective edit 'cos despite your textbook bluster and general obnoxious, petty, peurile and childlike demeanour, you remain constant in your inability to post rationally, intelligently and legibly and most important of all RESPECTFULLY in one 'hit' without coming back with the edit button minutes, hours or even days after.

Be nice to people BFG (Big F*******g Gob),

    grow up son.
