The less you speak to them the quicker they give up.
every time they try to contact you it costs them money on top of the £2.50 for the RK from DVLA.After a while they see they are getting nowhere and its not economic to continue. They work on percentages, the longer they have to keep chasing you the less profit they make.

One more thing, the car is registered in my wife's name so the penalty is issued to her yet I was driving. Should I go down the route of getting my wife to state she wasn't driving and is not obliged to reveal who was?

As long as it was an invoice (not fine) from a PPC then you can happily ignore it.

Do not enter into any correspondence whatsoever.

They are all invoices, PPCs have no legal authority to issue fines. Isn't that the point.

Indeed. I was trying to ensure that if it was an invoice from a PPC then it could be ignored.

However if it was not, but a proper PCN in a council run car park, then it would be a different matter

If one were being picky, heaven forfend, then it could reasonably be pointed out that the line "You’re worried : it doesn’t matter, we don’t care, ignore it all and don’t pay." is factually incorrect. You may not care but I do, hence my willingness to post on here trying to offer advice. Even if I am the only person to care that someone is worried about a potential charge from the PPC scum, your use of the word "we" is rendered erroneous.

However just because I have pointed out your inaccuracy there is no need to apologise to me.

I have to say that use of the royal 'we' hardly fulfils peter's accusation that "...a lot of it is wrong". [In fact I would go so far as venture that he meant I was factually incorrect; hence his reference to hospital and supermarket car parks being council controlled].

I know you're only being mischievious, and for that I thank you.

But.....Do you really care? I think it's more that you like to be able to say that you care as it salves your conscience and fills that human desire to be liked.

The thing is that deep down [deep, deep down - not just on a superficial 'nice' level], you DON'T care.
