Why not visit Co House Webcheck and buy the various documents - all of the incorporation documents (including directors addresses) are just £1?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
  • Hi, I received a private parking ticket from highview parking whilst shopping in matalan in London NW9 on the first day of the sale as I had stayed over 2 hours (queue was an hour long).

It came through the post a week later and I was shocked to see it, anyway after reading the forum, I thought the best way was to ignore it as I had called Matalan head office who had told me to call highview who obviously then said call matalan and that they cannot do anything.

Well today I went into the store to return a couple of things and explained it to a member of staff, he called the manager who asked if I had a receipt, which I did, he took my parking ticket and my receipt and said he would call the company and get it canceled, a little while later he came back and said it had been done and ignoring it would have got me a ccj, which I doubt but still this way its all above board and hopefully ended.

I just wanted to advise the same to others, the head offices of companies may be unable to help, but instore do try and speak to a manager as they should have knowledge of the company governing their car park, hope this helps, but if they did not help me today I would have followed the ignore rule.

Why bother with all that rigmarole? By just ignoring any correspondence from the parking company you get the same result. Of course that store manager was way out of order when he mentioned a CCJ.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Well like I said, I was at the store returning some items anyway, I feel a better peace of mind without any future threatening letters.
  • I took advice back in August when my daughter received notification of a parking fine from a private company. We did everthing this website told us too and I hadn't had any correspondence since late September. I really thought these jokers had gone away for good.

Blow me! I have today received a Notice of Intended Litigation which will cost us £246.75 or the offer to settle the debt now at £90.

I know everyone is saying it won't get to court, but these jokers are really starting to push this now, especially having let so much time elapse. Are they likely to take it to Small Claims? I have told them my daughter wasn't the driver but they still insist on pursuing her.

Of course they won't take you to court, that's just part of the scare tactics they use. Just ignore. And to repeat it again, it's not a "fine".

That's just part of the letter series, I got a similar one last year. Then they go away.

Doesn't matter who the PPC is, they tend to follow the same well-trodden path of standard letters designed to frighten you. By way of illustration, here is a pictogram of the letterchain by Euro Car Parks:

and here's the same sort of letterchain by NCP (notice 'END OF SCAM' for both!):

(many thanks to Alx*27 for posting these links ages ago).

The private parking company will NOT take you to Court, and a Debt collection agency cannot do anything at all except bother you (which can be construed as harassment, which IS illegal)!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Thanks everyone. I will keep to my silence in that case. Just noticed that they issued the letter of 24 Dec and gave me 7 days to reply. They sent the letter out 2nd class business mail and it arrived this morning 8th Jan. So I missed their deadline any way.

Looking at the attachments, I am tracking the same as everybody else I just hope the company Debt Recovery Plus Ltd (has anybody had dealings with them before?) go away now.
