Sorry to see you've fallen foul of our pet troll, never yet seen a useful answer from him.
The normal advice is to just ignore them, now you have contacted them you may get a few extra bits of paper but still ignore.
Don't contact them.
Don't reply to them.
Don't ever admit on any forum who was driving.
Don't worry. Please look at the umpteen posts about this and you will be relieved.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
hi there,
recieved a parking ticket today from TPS parking solutions in a halfords car park - fo £60!!
firstly i think i am going to ignore it as you all seem to agree this as the best course of action
i am not the RK of the car - i am not sure if there are cameras available to prove who was driving(i think halfords may have some but not the PPC)
if i am invoiced is it worth getting the RK to respond with the standard "i am not the driver - not obligated to inform you" letter?
i also think there are a few other issues i could raise if i appeal
the reason i was ticketed is given as "left the site" and i have a reciept from the halfords store in question is this worth going through the appeals procedure? (this would mean making contact with the PPC and admitting to driving)
any help would be very much appreciated
thank you!!0 -

Just ignore them and don't contact them. It's as simple as that. You might get some letters from the parking company a "debt collector" and even a "solicitor". Don't worry about those, and they will eventually leave you alone. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
It's NEVER worth going through the appeals procedure so forget that completely.
As you say, it just ID's the driver (which is why the PPCs do the appeal!). Then they can tick their box to say they now know who the driver was - and still refuse the appeal.
File the letters and forget about it, the whole series of letters will look quite colourful & legit (solicitors letter-headings) so warn the rk to pass them to you and NOT to pay as it's a scam.

It's crucial for you to appreciate that the "appeal" procedure is bogus.
It's part of the whole scam, designed to make the victim think that the PPC has some kind of legitimacy or legal authority (like the police or a council), when actually they don't. They're just a bunch of nobodies sat in a portakabin, hoping that as many mugs as possible will send them cheques.
If I wrote to you demanding £60 because you've read this post, and said you could "appeal" the charge through my own internal procedure by writing a grovelling letter to me, you'd laugh and ignore my letter. What the PPCs are doing is no different, so just laugh and ignore their letter.0 -
Hi all,
Yesterday I received a civil PCN which I'm furious about. I'll not go into detail but I made the mistake of not reading the sign as I entered the car park. The car park I used was a free shopping centre type with hundreds of car parking spaces. I opted to park on the outskirts of the car park to prevent my car being damaged again.
Anyway, unbeknown to me I parked in an area of this car park that was for permit holders only. I wasn't in anyone's way as the area that I parked in was only about 25% full.
We came back and there was a PCN attached to my side window. It asks me to pay a civil penalty of £100 with a discount of £50 for early payment.
After reading this wonderful forum I'm determined to take a stand against these bullies, but I have one concern. If it gets to the point of a debt collector coming to my door then does he have any rite to clamp or take my vehicle from where ever it is parked?
The company involved is addressed to a PO Box number.
Any advice would be very much appreciated. :mad:0 -

They will write you several letters each becoming more threatening and official looking, they may even send you a "draft" claim form from a court; then you'll receive a couple of letters from one of a small number of debt collectors each again becoming more threatening and finally you might receive a couple of letters from a solicitor.
Do not reply to any of them or you will be regarded as a hooked fish and the harassment will continue for even longer. Just file the letters away (don't destroy them - just in case).
Finally, the chances of a PPC ever taking you to court are vanishingly small. Their business plan is predicated on percentages and they know that (sadly) a majority of motorists will simply pay up and they can trouser the proceeds. For the small numbers of those who do not pay up they can afford to push the letters in the hope that they can eventually scare the victim into paying, a by then grossly inflated sum but very few actually "do" court knowing they are likely to be hammered if they do. Some boast that they have obtained judgements but inevitably the vast majority of these are obtained figure y default. If and its a very slim if, you do receive a small claims court claim form then log onto www.pepipoo.com (this link will take you direct to their parking forum) for expert advice in formulating your defence. In fact, why not pay it a visit and read the numerous threads showing how this blatant scam should be dealt with.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
