Have read through these blogs etc. Just wondered if anyone had any advice. Was issued a parking ticket last week by excel for failing to display. Had purchased the ticket with the help of the attendant (machine was not working) and attendant saw me get back in car and park up. Anyway the ticket ended up face down on the dash and he issued me a ticket for failing to display. Must have known I had got one as helped me pay for it!! Contacted the company through the appeals process as it seemed a straightforward issue that I had paid (forwarded scanned copy of ticket). Also offered to pay £10.00 to local charity if succesful with appeal. Thought it was a straightforward appeal that would be allowed. Anyway appeal was unsuccesful and now have to pay £40 in next few days or £100.00 next week. Has anyone ever had a succesful appeal !!
Have now read all the advice re enforceability etc but a bit confused if by accepting I was the driver and unsuccesfully appealling whether if taken to court I would be likely to lose. After dealing with excel on this occassion I am beginning to think that they are nothing but a load of scammers!! Any one out there able to help?
Doesn't matter that you have admitted you were the driver, they will not take court action. They will usually send out around 3 letters, each with an increase in how much you owe them. The best thing to do will be to ignore all the letters that they send. Definately do not pay!!0 -
I definitely agree.0

My wife went to Tescos, it was late after 5pm and pouring with rain. She saw a car pull out and parked.
The next day I was leaving for work and saw a ticket on her car, apparently she had parked in a disabled bay. She doesn't remember the bay and the parking company have provided a photo.
The have asked for £40.00 if paid in 14 days or £70.00 if longer, I didn't think they could enforce this type parking as its private land and normal rules don't apply.
Please advise your suggestions

As with all the many hundreds of similar cases. Just ignore all correspondence from the parking company, their "debt collectors" and "solicitors". Even more importantly do not contact any of these people.
The driver hasn't done anything wrong as disabled places have no lawful meaning on private land. Please feel free to read all the posts on here regarding similar cases to yours. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

I have pm ed you. The situation in Swansea Parc Tawe is particularly stupid, with large leisure complexes obviously taking up time i.e. a botanical greenhouse, a bowling rink, a cinema, various food outlets. Plus two separate sites split by a duel carriageway, but in the same complex. Any person doing a shopping expedition would be tempted with a couple of dozen shops - imagine for instance the start of the school year - uniform - shoes - "no these are no good lets try XXX" decide / queue / kids whine / partner whines ---- oh a parking ticket for .... shopping like the stores wanted me to!
There is a problem there - with a retail park on the edge of a largely closed off city centre, but the difficulties this creates should not impact on people making perfectly reasonable use of the parking offered there.0 -
Regarding Tesco, to make up for the fact they have insulted red-headed people with that Christmas card, they should have reserved spaces marked "For Ginger-Haired Customers Only".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Hi everyone,
I got a PCN ticket in ALDI in Doncaster last Tuesday.
I know it's ok to ignore them if it's ASDA or Tesco...but is ALDI the same??0 -

What if you're ginger, but bald??? What if you haven't got matching cuffs and muffs?? Can you still use the spaces?? Just because you're ginger doesn't mean it's obvious for everyone to see.0 -
